The Aurora Lodge Hotel was the first and worst stay of my ten day trip around Iceland. The hotel is in fact a fishing lodge and most of the guests were fisherman braving the cold and rain trying their hand in the nearby river.
We had such a good time here. The cabins, tho small are clean and comfortable. The lodge is cozy with its fireplace and the hot tubs outside have a great view. We ate in the lodge both nights. I don't know why no one else...More
A fishing lodge but very friendly for non fishermen. Great views over the river, nice breakfast (iogurt, bread, fruit, coffee, juices, eggs, bacon, jam, cheese, butter, marmalade and sauces), lovely surroundings full of birds.
A great night in our trip around the island.
We stayed in Aurora Lodge Hotel in May 2017, in a private room, breakfast inclusive. This was our second night in Iceland.

It's not that formal a place. But I think they said the main building is closed at 11 or something like that. You should contact the property before you arrive to let them know when you think you may arrive so they can make... More
