Location is great, about an hour by car from Reykjavik and half an hour from Borgarnes, beautiful and relax farm area with a bath on the terrace and the best hostess you can ask for! Our room was a good size, bathrooms (3!) were clean and specious, washer and dryer for guest use, good breakfast and a well equipped kitchen.... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay here! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The rooms are beautiful, the owner is so kind and helpful, and the animals are great company. The dogs played with bubbles and we got to see a sheep with lambs. We would love to return some time. I would give six stars if I... More

Geirshlid Guesthouse is a lovely little guesthouse with a very welcoming and knowledgeable host. We only stayed for one night the room was comfortable and just what we needed. The internet wasn't great which I thought was good so I had a reason not to be on it! There was 2 beautiful puppies when we were there which was cute... More

On our way from Reykyavik to west Iceland we stopped overnight at Geirshlid: friendly comfortable farmhouse, sparkling clean, warm welcome and lots of interesting information. After a peaceful night and a visit with the animals we set off sightseeing fuelled by a huge breakfast. Early afternoon weather closed in, shrieking wind and heavy snow... and the clutch on the car... More

Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Would be a great place to watch northern lights, if weather played ball! Guesthouse on working farm & Although this guesthouse, lacks style and is a little dated, it is clean & comfortable (beds amazingly comfortable!), breakfast good & owner, very friendly, knowledgeable & made great recommendations for activities & dinning... Geirshlid as a great place to stay - we actually had the guesthouse to ourselves, which was lovely, but it's small enough that if it had been fully booked we would have been fine. The bathrooms and rooms all appear to be recently re-decorated, and to a high standard. We arrived late, but Hulda was still very welcoming and happy... More

Geirshield guesthouse is located in the rural area of close to the interior of Iceland, in an active farm growing mainly cattle, near some of the most active geothermal fields in Iceland, including the biggest of them all- Deildartanguhver, and the magnificent Kaldidalur (only in summer and by 4x4). Hulda, the owner is a charming and very welcoming lady, who... More
