Great place to stay. Close to everything and the T station. Easy walk to Harvard University. Great history in this town. Quite location and friendly owners. Enjoyed our talks with David!! Breakfast was put out daily. Lots to choose from.

Free parking and a fantastic location, David and Whitman house offered us a beautifully furnished quiet bedroom, private bathroom and as much as we wanted for breakfast. The 'T' is a few minutes walk away; it's a great tram/underground system and we used it to access the commuter train to Rockport and Salem. Whitman house is relaxed, flexible and we'd...

We stayed for 5 nights for a city trip and liked it very much. The blue room is cosy and spacious with private bath-not ensuite... Breakfast is not served but there is a huge variety (couldn't be better) and we cooked bacon and eggs every morning. The hosts are very nice people who helped us a lot by even buying...

Just returned home from a beautiful vacation in Boston. Whitman house was very comfortable, clean, and close to the heart of Boston. Train ride was a few minutes from the house, or even better was Uber. House had muffins, breads, drinks, coffees etc whenever you wanted. Owner is very friendly and interesting to speak with. I will return if ever in Boston again.

My husband, daughter (age 17) and I stayed at the Whitman House in late August, 2016. We had the green and red rooms, along with the bathroom across the hall. We had a lovely time. It was quiet, convenient and fun! We went there to look at Harvard College and MIT as potential colleges for a year from now. It...

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Whitman House. It was a lovely BnB on a quiet street set a few blocks back from Mass Avenue, Cambridge. Home to many shops and restaurants. You are only a short walk from Harvard University and MIT and only 3 subway stops to downtown Boston. Our lovely host David was a lot...

The Whitman House was a very clean, comfortable, quiet, convenient, and safe base for a week of touring the area. Its close proximity to the red line made arriving from the airport and getting to most major Boston attractions very easy. The neighborhood, between MIT and Harvard, is very interesting and the hosts could not have been more hospitable. A...

The Whitman House is a beautifully restored house in a quiet neighborhood. Well appointed, comfortable rooms, including very interesting and special items throughout the house. Make your own breakfast like you would at home, with everything offered. Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood, easy to find, but walking distance to the main area in Cambridge. Have amazing conversations with David,...

We stayed in the blue room with access to our own bathroom across the hallway. Spacious, clean accommodation with Wi-fi included. Generous breakfast and you can make tea or coffee in the evening if you wish. House located close to train station and it's an easy trip to downtown Boston. Local shops are nearby & it's an easy walk to...

Friendly, familiar and generous Place. Cambridge is a very nice area, near to Downtown Boston with the subway. It´s only four rooms in the hotel so there is mostly very quiet and a good Place if you don´t like to much people around.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Though our Bed and Breakfast has been newly renovated, we think of the Whitman House as an established Cambridge residence, inn, and guesthouse. We are a 15 minute walk from both Harvard and MIT, or a 3 minute walk to the Central Square Red Line subway which gets you to the heart of either in one stop and the Heart of Boston in three. We have been personally involved in community affairs for over 26 years and glad to be your conduit to the cities of Boston and Cambridge. Beginning with no taxes, free off street parking on site, wireless internet, private bathrooms, and a flexible breakfast schedule; there is nothing you could need that isn't approachable in one way or another. This is a beautiful place that we wish you to enjoy, share and experience to its fullest as you conduct your stay. Please see the rest of our site for the full picture. Then be sure to Call Us Directly or email for any questions, comments, requests and bookings. Thank you and Enjoy! ... more   less
