I was on a business trip and caught a cold at the previous place, which worsened after check-in this hotel (was not COVID though.) The security guard was kind enough to bring me an ice pack when I had a fever, but the next day, when my engagement ring diamond was missing, they did not respond well. The manager and the security guard who came to the room searched near the entrance roughly, and checked the door entry/exit history, but there was no one in or out except me. As the room was a connected room, I called the front desk to ask for confirmation just in case, but the woman (manager) said, "We are a global brand and connected rooms are used all over the world, no one can get in unless you open it (of course). The diamond fell off somewhere else, you should call the police yourself", she sneered at me. When I called the police, they filed it as an incident, but the hotel made a point of saying it was none of their business. The manager refused to provide the service, saying that the rule is that no one can enter the room of a person with a fever until at least 24 hours after check-out. I left the used towels outside the room, and then a plastic bag stuffed with six bath towels (no face towels) was placed outside the room. The overflowed rubbishes from the bins was collected by the cleaning staff with double masks. When the fever broke and I went out after removing the “Don't disturb” sign, the room was completely clean and tidy. Cleaners on site want to clean (need tips). The only staff who were helpful during my cold were the staff in the restaurant downstairs (due to my sickness I didn't go out to eat, so took some foods away almost every day). I was told that the corporate discount and the long-stay discount were applied, but in reality it cost an average of more than $500/night with a daily fluctuating rate. A month and a half after returning home, the hotel charged my credit card again about $500, and when I emailed them, they replied that there was no change to my stay. When I sent it again with the details, a different person replied and said, "Sorry, we failed to collect the tax". 15.95% for state, city, tourist taxes and others. They only attached a screen capture of their system, so I told them to send me a official invoice in PDF with the proper logo. They should have informed me before charging. I thought it was a fraudulent use of my credit card. Even at check-out, the front desk phone was left ringing and the staff were engaged in private conversation. This is an utterly appalling global brand. Next time I will stay somewhere else.

Loved our stay. The staff is very friendly. Ericka was on top it at check-in when our room assignment on the Bonvoy app conflicted with data in her system. The hotel is very quiet, clean, and modern. Beautiful lobby with plush chairs and sofas. They even have a pickleball court and free coffee outside the restaurant. Location is perfect since the Red Line Kendall/MIT "T" subway stop is right next door. One stop and you're in downtown. CVS across the street. Located right across the Charles River from downtown Boston, across the street from MIT, and just two subway stops from Harvard. We chose it since it was not as pricy as downtown hotels. However, for the price, they really should have queen beds instead of doubles. That's the only reason for not rating as a five-star.

Did I spend roughly $50 (pre-tax & tip) on a lobster roll and a glass of prosecco? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. I'm going to touch on other aspects of my stay, but I can't believe how many fresh tasting, big, succulent chunks of lobster were in this hotel lounge lobster roll. It's cold & mayo based, which I know isn't for everyone (I see you got buttered lobster roll people and I understand completely; I'm just an equal opportunist when it comes to lobster rolls), but it was really good - like, not good for a hotel lounge, but good good. Yum! Ok, so why 4 stars? If it were based on the hospitality of the staff alone, I'd give it 6. Every staff member I encountered was genuinely affable - some were more outgoing than others, sure, but I appreciate mellow kindness. Also, this might be the first time I've remembered to pack all of my extra little charging stations, and I didn't even need them. So many conveniently placed outlets and USB ports - and the main room light was warm toned and welcoming, which is also a little treat :) I had to take away a star because of the general noise. My sleep wasn't disturbed, because I always travel with hardcore ear plugs and a sleep mask, but I couldn't close the curtains all the way (even with the pants hanger clip trick) so there was light coming in, and I could hear everything in the hall. Also plumbing noises (like pipes pinging and gurgling - nothing alarming, just...mildly intrusive). I was also disappointed that there wasn't a laundry bag or dry cleaning service like there are in the other Marriotts I've stayed in; I want to call myself out on not going to the front desk to ask specifically for this, but every other Marriott I've been in has a laundry bag with a dry cleaning order form in the closet. There also weren't any extra blankets in the closet; again, I didn't ask the front for one (and I'm sure they would have given one to me) but I wish there had been one in the room as it was super comfortable until I woke up at 2 am - which is really late and inconvenient to realize you need extra blankets. Ok, so that's why I took away a star. The other 4 are for the friendly staff, incredibly convenient location (anywhere I didn't walk, I took a Bluebike from the stand right outside), gorgeous fitness center (Pelotons?! What?!), and general cleanliness. If I come back to Boston/Cambridge for work, I'm 100% staying here. (If I come for pleasure, I'd probably try a quaint inn or something, but honestly I'd likely stay here the final night of my trip because it is also FIFTEEN MINUTES from the airport. But with a great river view, and no plane noises.) More on the location: walk to the river, and across the Harvard bridge. You're literally right there, and it's a great way to see the city (and while there's a CVS across the street, the one over the bridge is in a historic building. I'm from California, so to me that is very special 😂). It also takes 15 minutes to walk to the Cambridgeside Galleria if you need a mall. And it's a good mall!

Lovely location but don't expect to sleep. The plumbing clangs constantly. There is literally no end to the noise. After two nights of trying to blare "white noise" from my phone I'm realizing there's no respite from it.

Meh. The hotel is nice but; early morning when others are showering etc - the plumbing in my bath gurgles non-stop! The elevators are ridiculously slow. The room was nice. Daily maid service. Etc. My advice - be in shape and take stairs and stay away from rooms 52X

Great location, friendly staff , good benefits for titanium elite . M club is also a restaurant which does limit some hours but gives great options for evening complimentary appetizer and dessert. Lots of restaurant options and easy access to subway . Hope to stay again soon !!

This hotel is very clean. The food at the M Club is not the best for dinner but the breakfast is good. We arrived late and do not want to go out so we just ate there for dinner. Our family of 4 got diarrhea the next day. There are 4 elevators but operating at slow speed. The WIFI is very slow and not free either since I am Silver Elite Member, we got it for free but so we just end up using out hotspot from our cell phone since we do not wish to purchase the premium price. We booked 2 rooms. The rooms are clean but need a lot of improvement to control the noise issue from the hallway and since the hotel is located above subway system we can hear subway moving from 5th floor rooms. The room doors need to install door sweep and should offer 2 Queens Beds instead of 2 Double Beds for the price. It is conveniently located near MIT and MIT Museum which is where are most spending time for. The valet parking cost $55.00 per night which include in/out privileges which I personally like. The house keeping staff has better manner than Front Desk Staffs, she is always smiling and greet to us as we walk by her (Front Desk Staffs need to learn that manner from her, no matter what time the guests are checking or/and out). Finally, it was a good stay for us due to the location.

Very comfortable, clean and stylish . Staff extremely professional and accommodating. Location one mile from Mass Gen hospital, middle of booming Kendall Square, which has wonderful restaurants that are reasonably priced.
