We needed a place to relax and unwind, and this hotel gave us precisely this. The rooms were spacious and beautiful; the beach area was not too crowded as other Sardinian beaches in the area can be; the views were wonderful; the staff was very incredibly helpful and kind; the buffet breakfast was great. The surroundings of the hotel are unlike other more modern ones that have recently developed, and the streets, rooms and main areas are all lined up with flowers and Mediterranean vegetation. It was really a pleasure to stay here.

It is a very good hotel in an excellent situation. The beach and pool facilities are excellent and well maintained throughout the day. The swimming was superb off the quiet beach with an excellent private area furnished with sun beds and parasols. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of food including a strong Italian element. The staff were excellent throughout our stay. The only downside of the situation is that if you want to eat out you have to drive. This was not a problem for us but it was for others we met. The food in the restaurant was excellent but we would have liked the option of a smaller set menu. Four courses is too much for us and we missed out on some Sardinian specialities because we didn't have the set menu.

Great location and swimming pool with wonderful view. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are smaller, our was close to local communication – noisy in the early morning. Will return but to another room in quiet area.

Traveled to a few different beaches but Don Diego definitely has one of the best beaches on the island. A great hotel if you are planning to stay in one location. Even if you plan to explore a rental car was only 100 for the day. The front desk was always so helpful with whatever we needed. Went out of their way to book a private exclusive boat excursion for our small party of 4. The restaurant was also really good. Would definitely go again!

If someone wants to immerse themselves in silence and enjoy the beauty of nature, this is the place you dream of. Special thanks to the staff, especially at the front desk - they are always ready to help at any time! It's unclear when they take a break... thank you again for the vacation.

This hotel could deserve 5 stars if certain things would be addressed. The location is great, nice beach with coarse grained sand and salt water pool in a phenomenal setting with amazing views. The hotel does not really cater for families and kids and is likely more targeted at adults. We have two smaller kids. The rooms are fairly dark and remind a bit of a hobbit hole. This can be good in summer as they don’t get so hot but they are dark. The decor in the hotel and room is certainly quite dated, which has it’s charm but it could use a few tasteful upgrades here and there. What annoyed us most was the dinner, we had half-pension. The waiters are a bunch of jung inexperienced headless chicken running around serving all tables randomly and making constant mistakes. This also meant that families with small kids will likely sit on the table for a good two hours until all courses come out. We tried to tell the waiters to please bring courses faster but this was hopeless and we gave up after a few days. This gets especially annoying if random tables around you get served faster even though the people arrived much later. Even being first does not help. The food is ok but not great. All in all the hotel seems simply too expensive for what it offers and it would be fairly easy to change this.

When we entered the hotel, we got so excited. Stunning views from our room and the restaurant, beautiful pool, gorgeous beach and excellent staff at the restaurants where we had good food (they get a 5!) So kudos to them! However, at the reception not everyone was as service minded (it took eg more than a day to get light fixed in the bathroom) and we got into a very nasty argument with the manager. To be fair, in the end there was yelling from our side as well and the hotel picked up the bill for our lunch and diner (which says enough I guess) but it definitely colored our stay, which was such a shame, because it is a gorgeous place. The aircons in the room are very dated, one of the sunbeds in the suite was run down etc. I’m sure the hotel can do better; you have to when you pretend to be a top hotel with top prices.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Don Diego. The location is beautiful albeit a little remote. Our family had adequate space and bedding for my tall teens, well appointed bathroom and terrace with ocean view. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the food and drinks were good. My recommendation would be to rent a car. Inwas terribly hesitant to do this but we found driving was easy here and we would have missed the opportunity to see other beaches and restaurants as well as visit a grocery store for drinks and snacks. My children’s beds were comfortable, but we found ours to be a bit hard for our liking. Aside from that I would not hesitate to return. It is a really nice location for relaxing with options for activities.

Very beautiful hotel complex with large salt water pool, fitness area, direct beach access and little marina. The standard rooms are some steps away from the main house and not luxurious, but clean and have AC. Reception, Cleaning and Marina staff very friendly. Restaurant and bar staff unfortunately not so friendly. Possiblity to rent licence free motor boats and other water sports equipment.
