From start to finish the experience in the hotel was outstanding. All of the staff were so nice and very helpful from reception to housekeeping everyone always said hello and had a smile. The hotel is situated at the edge of the centre of the town, the location is only a matter of 2-3 minutes walk to the nearest shop, cafes and restaurants, in fact there is a restaurant at the back of the hotel when you leave by the back gate. It is easy to walk to the main square, the medieval town and down to the harbour, really the location of this hotel could not be better. It sits on a cliff and the views at the pool over to the gulf and down to the beach or back up to the mountain are spectacular. The room was spacious. with a modern fresh décor, there are lots of charging points in the room, a fridge, a safe, sky TV but mostly in Italian and good air-conditioning. The bathroom was lovely and fresh with a large walk in shower, nice toiletries and nice quality towels. One feedback point would be that there are no drawers in the room only a hanging clothes shelves. Our balcony was small with no table but big enough for two chairs, there are hanging lines for wet clothes and they also provide pegs which were very useful. The breakfast was so yummy, with a tremendous selection of savoury and sweet delights all freshly made, the staff will make you any type of fresh coffee and tea and the view from the breakfast room is beautiful. The pool and surrounding area was great it does get busy in the later afternoon but we always got a bed eventually. The pool is a good size and is super refreshing and the pool bar is brilliant with a good selection of cocktails, beers and drinks. Parking was always available and the hotel was full at the time of our visit. Really couldn't fault this hotel and we've stayed in many locations around the world, it was definitely in our top 5 and we would highly recommend and hopefully we will return at a future date.

We have been travelling throughout Italy and now Sicily for well over one month and this place was an unexpected surprise. A little clinical for me and with little Sicilian flair, but it worked fantastically well. The room with bed facing the sea and balcony was beautifull and the bed very good. I slept better than at home and all staff was exceptionally polite and courteous.
This hotel is immaculately clean and Covid-19 hygene measures are impeccable, by far the best we have encountered anywhere to date. They disinfect all poolsode beds as soon and one leaves, which I had not seen before.
Breakfast is good and they offer free cakea and sandwiches all day long inside and poolside.
Only weird thing is that this hotel does not have a restaurant nor the possibility to eat there, and breakfast is served on the top floor with great views but in a completely enclosed are which seems like it would have been a balcony in the past. A nice open air terrace would have been much nicer.
All in all I can't complain, as I would definitely go back and hope to find another hotel stay as good as this one soon.

Dear Guest, First of all, we would like to thank you to choosing Marina di Petrolo Hotel & Spa for your stay and for your wonderful review. In these very special moments due to the Covid-19, our objective is to maintain a service of quality and your comment is a crucial means to move forward. For this reason, we are truly gratified and grateful that we have been able to make these magical days as we promise it to all of our guests. Yes, our breakfast-room was a open terrace that - for security and weather reasons - we had to cover: this is a real windy area! We look forward to welcoming you again at Marina di Petrolo Hotel & Spa! Our best regards, Francesco - Hotel Manager

My wife and I got married in Castellamare del Golfo and needed an accommodation for us and our closest guests who are used to a certain standard. After much research and visiting of other hotels in the area (prior to our wedding visit) we decided upon Marina di Petrolo. I can say, without any hesitation, that we made the best decision. Francesco and his staff were so welcoming and accommodating both prior to our stay and throughout. The staff was so friendly, from the reception, to the breakfast, to the spa, even room service. Their attention to detail is unmatched.
The rooms were clean, modern, well maintained and spacious. The breakfast was fantastic, with a beautiful view over the coast. The spa facilities were clean, with professional staff.
With most of our family staying at the hotel, the pool (and poolside bar) was the perfect spot to cool off under the warm Sicilian sun.
The location of the hotel was very central, yet away from the loud street noises that other guests (staying at other hotels) experienced.

Francesco and his staff were extremely accommodating and efficient with shuttle and transport services (no easy task with a group our size).

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay in Castellamare del Golfo, and my wife and I will absolutely be back.

Grazie mille!

Nabil & Sabrina

Castellammare del Golfo is my mothers home town and I love to go and visit family and friends. I usually stay in my families home but it is in the middle of renovations so I chose to stay at Marina di Petrolo for my stay and it was the best decision I could have ever made. the location is perfect, you're walking distance from lots of great restaurants and attractions, amazing views from your room and the staff and hospitality were fantastic. On my last day I decided to splurge and booked a Relax massage; great way to wind down before taking my long flight back home to New York. Giuseppe my massage therapist was great he set a very relaxing zen atmosphere. The massage lasted an hour and I was so relaxed I fell asleep midway through. Will for sure be booking another massage next time I am in town!

Great location, about a minute walk from restaurants and shop’s, hotel has great cleanliness and staff are very helpful and kind they spoke fluent English and this helped as there was no language barrier. The room we booked was clean and spacious and had a limited sea view. The bed was big and comfy and the air con was very helpful when hot outside, the shower was small but we could deal with it for a week. The balcony did not have a table however their was two chairs that we could sit on and look out on. The pool area was always clean and the were many sun-beds and umbrellas for all. However, the pool was very cold but we enjoyed for a refreshing dip. I would recommend the breakfast as it was so tasty and had great opening hours didn’t have to get up too early to go and eat, there was a variety of juices from blood orange juice to carrot juice all was nice, the breakfast buffet consisted off meats, cakes and vegetables and was very tasty. Our favourite of all was the ‘Pistachio Cake’ we found this amazing and would come back for the cake alone. Overall this hotel is clean and in a great location and i would return castellammare del Golfo.

We stayed in the apartments next to the hotel which gave us the space we needed as a family. The sea views from the balcony and the infinity pool were lovely . The staff were so helpful and genuine and went out of their way to make as feel welcome and comfortable

Beautiful location looking down at the bay and spoilt for choice with restaurants…as long as you like seafood which we did although my husband fancied a change by the end and we did manage a nice steak restaurant.

Only thing to mention if you book the apartments breakfast is not included but it can be tricky to find a supermarket/or even a convenience store if don’t have a hire car so it’s something to consider if you are booking the apartments and don’t have access to a car. We paid for the hotel breakfast a couple of times and it was delicious. The views from the breakfast room were breathtaking. Also the pool is not included if you stay in the apartments unless you book directly with the hotel which isn’t that obvious on booking sites.

Other thing to mention is that the balconies are quite small . Only really big enough for 2 chairs especially if drying towels etc so if you are staying with older children or adults it could be a bit of a squeeze but we were fine as both our children are young so we sat on the balcony when they went to bed. Also the kids beds are camp beds in the same room (just to be aware for older children /families who need more space) but it was fine for us.

Also worth brushing up on your Italian! I did a lot of pointing at the menu in restaurants 😆. Don’t assume everyone can speak English . There weren’t many British tourists and it seemed to be a more popular holiday resort for Italians so it was certainly an authentic Sicilian experience and not too touristy

Many happy memories and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such genuine and lovely staff before. Especially Rosalita (I hope I got her name right )

We spent 1 night only in this hotel but it exceeded our expectations and was far superior to other hotels we visited.
The hotel is tastefully decorated combining modern design with a rustic touch which blends in beautifully.
Rooms are very clean and spacious, the shower with relaxing blue light is impressive.
We had breakfast in the top floor hall with spectacular views of Castellemare and the distant shoreline.
Breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared.
Staff very courteous and attentive to our need.
This hotel was our choice due to the parking facilities it offered but it will be our first choice should we decide to visit the area again in future.

We stayed in the studio apartments, not in the hotel, but we paid for breakfast in the hotel. The rooms were very clean, the location a short walk into town, and breakfast was outstanding. Their commitment to green practices and combatting food waste is commendable. Our only criticism is the bed was very hard and we could feel all the springs in the mattress.

From start to finish, this family run hotel has it all. Clean, modern, polite and caring staff who go out of their way to help you. They will make reservations for you at restaurants, beach lidos, offer suggestions of where to visit, look up bus and train times for you. The infinity pool out back offers a relaxing retreat from a hot day in the sun.Pietro, one of the owners, drove us to our next stop in Palermo. He and his wife Rosalia are most gracious as are all their employees.

Wonderful stay at this family run hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, beautiful property overlooking the sea. Room was a bit on the small side but comfortable enough and offered all the amenities we needed to relax after a long day at the beach or exploring other parts of western Sicily. And the town of Castellammare del Golfo is a wonderful hidden gem, very lively at night.
