We stayed two nights here mainly because of the location. We took the breakfast and parking package. The capital is just a few blocks away with many other sites. The hotel is nicely located within walking distance of the river and restaurants as well. The room is large and comfortable. We were facing Cary St. And noticed that the windows...

Location couldn't be better to walk that part of town. When the first room I had assigned had a loud noise, sounded like water runnng next door or above me, I was moved immediately to a different room. That made the entire experience perfect as I could never have slept with that noise.

Always a pleasant stay! Clean, friendly in a great location. Love the rooms with the balcony- such a rare find. No issues with parking ( we didn't use the valet). Mr. Doody at the front desk took the time to practice pronouncing our last name and was very personable. Not our first visit, and won't be our last.

We were visiting Richmond at the end of a two-week stay in the States and wanted to be close to the sights. We found this hotel was perfect - close walking distance to the State capital area and the historic attractions, while surrounded by a good number of restaurants for dinner. The hotel offers valet parking but it is cheaper...

The hotel is an historical building and is quite beautiful. The rooms are quite lovely, clean and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The one shortcoming is the restaurant. We ate breakfast there and it left something to be desired. Considering the upscale ambiance of the place, I expected...

Stayed one night at the Berkeley - everything was very competently and solidly done. Not one glitch, not one mistake. Seriously: how often does that happen? The staff were uniformly excellent and friendly, the hotel was immaculately clean, and the room and bathroom were large and comfortable. This hotel is situated in Shockhoe Slip, which is an interesting and colorful...

This is a really good hotel. We had a spacious room which was well equipped and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The food at breakfast was good. However, on Saturday night we were kept awake by noise from a party (or parties) outside. We didn't get to sleep until almost 3 am. You have been warned.

Thank you so much for your review. With our central downtown location, we are within walking distance to many of the areas attractions. There are restaurants and bars in the area which can contribute to the outside noise. We do hope you will visit us again when you return to Richmond.

A charming boutique type of hotel in a great location in the historic Shockhoe district of the city, near lots of restaurants. But don't pass up the Berkely's own restaurant, they have a great chef and very nice wait staff. Had the best chef created frozen blueberry meringue pie on a cookie crust, still tasting it. Rooms are very roomy...

Quality ambiance and furnishings. King room was good size. Took the dinner package that included valet parking, roughly a $35 savings. Service was excellent and prompt. Price competitive with other downtown hotels and definitely not appearing like a chain hotel. The hotel itself is of modest size with check-in parking along the curb; could require double parking if many check-ins...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our Stay and Dine Package. It's a nice way to taste some of our amazing food while staying with us; I have to say Chef's take on Shrimp and Grits is my new favorite! We had a very enjoyable stay. The location is terrific and valet parking reasonably priced. The Berkeley is cloose to many good restaurants and some interesting shops. We felt safe in that part of Richmond and noticed a lot of new residential units in the neighborhood. We will stay there again.
