There were six traveling lady pals in our group. The Grist Mill House accommodations were perfect for us. Its historic beauty and rustic character are amazing. We all loved our time there. Peter and Carole greeted us warmly, gave us a lovely tour, treated us as family, and prepared a superb breakfast. The mill house's hand-hewn beams, original squeaky, wide-board...

There are all types of bed and breakfasts. Some are dirty and dingy, others are posh and luxurious (with a matching pricetag), and others are suffocatingly floral and Victorian (yuck!). Then, every once and a while, you come across someplace like Grist Mill House: charming, comfortable, tastefully appointed and affordable. In other words, sometimes you find a gem. My husband...

We just came back from a one night stay. We love Woodstock and have stayed at many places in the area. The building is beautiful and has so much character. Peter and Carol are wonderful and we enjoyed our talks with them. You can walk to the Kedron Valley Inn for dinner. There are also lovely walks along country roads....

My boyfriend (who lives in Portsmouth, NH) and I (who live in Saratoga Springs, NY) had a couple of days off, so we decided to meet halfway at Woodstock and we stayed here. It was absolutely wonderful. Peter and Carole, the owners, we're so sweet, and knowing that we were in the area hours before we could check in, they...

An absolutely great place to stay. We went in the winter and the house had a great cosy feel. Peter and Carol were great to talk to and made the best food! Breakfast in the morning is something everyone should look forward to because the food is absolutely wonderful! The rooms were very cute, clean and had everything you would...

Stay here if you can! Woodstock is a lovely town with lots to see and beautiful landscapes to enjoy. Peter and Carol from the Grist Mill House are wonderful hosts and innkeepers. The house is an old mill, beautifully renovated and with three great rooms. Bathroom is modern and super nice and they just have it all planned to the...

I thought I lost my pictures. We were there actually April 2013. It was a very relaxing time. No TV and I cant remember but I dont think we had internet either. That was the beauty, we were there to just have peace. Wood stove was so warm, puzzle was fun. If you want peace, and serenity, this B&B is...

This is a very special place...you can tell from the minute you walk in the mud room! The living area and breakfast nook are gorgeous with views of the creek out back. We stayed in the Millers room and it was very cozy and warm! Comfy beds and pillows. Yes, the bathroom is a shared bathroom, but it didn't really...

Some people would and do love this place, but it's not for everyone. We felt so awkward when we first walked in. We had that uncomfortable-get me out of here feeling. We have stayed at several B&B's, but this one felt the most like we were staying with a stranger. The host was very friendly but quirky and took up...

From the hand-hewn beams and pot-belly stove in the common room to the nooks and crannies and comfy beds in the three guest rooms, Grist Mill House is a welcoming and entirely unusual Vermont retreat. While many B&Bs smother their guests in Victoriana and fussy breakfasts, the owners of Grist Mill House have created a historic yet extremely inviting B&B,...

“We had the Kedron room, where you will share a queen sized bed and a loft single that is reachable by climbing a ladder. The Miller's room has twins that can be pushed together to create a king sized sleeping space. The Rood room has a double, a single and a loft bed that can only be reached by climbing a ladder.”
