We decided to get away from the coast for a break and chose this on the recommendations. Living in Spain for the past 12 years, we enjoy exploring and finding out of the way places. This sleepy little village was a delight. Parts of it date back to Roman and Moorish times. There were information signs in Spanish and English....

It was really nice place, new opened in february 2016 from new owners with a lot of heart. The accommodation is basic but really furnitured with love, superclean and you will find all you need. The little hotel has a very nice restaurant with supergreat demanding kitchen and fantastic local wines. You will find here a passionate cook. We will...

For international or Spanish travellers wanting a taste of country life in one of the remote pueblos blancos of Andalucia this is the place. Don't expect 5 star but expect excellent service and all the basics catered for adequately. The small rooms mirror the tiny houses and narrow streets outside. We enjoyed the comfortable bed, new ensuite and a delicious...

Jèsus and Esther have done amazingly well in the four months they've had so far at El Parral. A beautiful, kind, friendly young couple that Cook beautifully, buy fresh from the market and make anyone feel welcome. Jèsus speaks some English but both are friendly enough to order with at ease. As a vegan, I was impressed with the dishes...

Ali and Juan must be the friendliest hosts in Andalucia; we spent the time between arriving and dinner drinking coffee, sampling local liquers and joining in the conversation with their friends in the dining room; we felt like we'd known them for years. Hard to sum up the food in a few words and do it justice, both of them...

Quaint little hotel (just 3 rooms) presided over by the warm-hearted Ali and her kind partner Juan. The rooms are simple but clean. The blue double we had has a valley view stretching for miles. The bed was comfortable - though it is a double, not a king size. The value cannot be beaten- 39E for the bedroom on its...

We walked over to Benoacaz from Grazelema and stayed one night at El Parral. The owners are extremely friendly and spoke good English, although also happy to let us practise our Spanish. Rooms were basic, but comfortable and clean. We also had access to a balcony area and kitchenette/sitting room. Dinner was great, especially the meat with honey and mustard...

Stayed there last January for 2 nights (18th Jan 2013). We were a young couple and wanted a weekend getaway where we could explore the Sierra de Grazalema. Unfortunately, the weekend we chose was subject to a brutal storm that knocked out the electricity for most of the Saturday and also meant that it would be foolhardy to set out...

Nice place to stay on edge of village, friendly hosts and food definitely better than the usual in this type of establishment. We booked via Booking.com and asked for an extra bed in the kids room - this does not always work smoothly but here no problems. Evenings in April were chilly - village is at around 800m, so dinner...
