With a group of 35, we overnighted at the Far View Lodge. The view is just breathtaking from your front balcony. We sat on the balcony and watched the stars at night. The only thing that made us come inside was the fact that we had to be up so early the next morning. Our evening meal was not so...

This lodge is typical National Park lodging, which means no frills, so set your expectations accordingly. The Lodge is set up on a bluff that can see out for miles in every direction - really a stunning vista. Our room, like all of them, had a small back porch just big enough for a couple of chairs. It was really...

This is an older park property managed by Aramark. The great thing about staying at Far View Lodge is you are in the park and eliminate the long drive to and from the park to a hotel in Cortez each day. The views are great and the night sky is beautiful because you are so removed from any city light...

This lodge is very spread out at a very high point in Mesa Verde. Our room was some distance from the main block and although had amazing views into the distance it overlooked the car park of the adjacent property. Therefore we felt the overall ambience could have been better but we enjoyed our deck and the coyotes at night!...

Visited Far View Lodge in early October and stayed 2 nights in a Kiva Deluxe room. Our room was in 10-unit building next to lodge where the office, Metate restaurant, lounge, and store is located so it had very convenient access. Room was recently renovated, clean and comfortable with modern sink and shower fixtures. Room had a refrigerator and telephone,...

We spent four days in unit 131, king top floor. Amazing sunrises from the bed, stars can also be seen from bed. There is a nice little deck with a table and chairs, great view! Coffee maker, refrigerator, plenty of space. Only a minute walk to the dinning hall or lounge. The restaurant is decent, but after the first night...

We have stayed here before and knew it was basic that is no TV small space but this time we shared our room with mice.they were moving around the room all nite. Even chewed on my husband's glasses. The bathroom floor was mushy felt like you would fall thru at any time. There was a drain problem in the shower....

If you want to stay in the park and are not a camper, this is what you get. Recommend asking if a second floor room. They are larger and, as there are only two floors in each building, you will avoid hearing people walking (kids running!) above you. There is no tv and wifi is useless. But, hey, you've come...

We stayed at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park for 1-night in late Sep ($161). The lodge is located at 8,000 feet in the heart of the park, about 8 miles from the major ruins like Cliff Palace and Balcony House and the secondary ruins at Wetherill Mesa. Set on a hill above the Wetherill road junction,...

What a beautiful place. Whatever room you get, you will have a beautiful view. The rooms are spacious and clean. You are staying in a National Park for a rate that I believe is very low. The restaurant was high price, but we actually ate upstairs in the lounge and enjoyed the food and atmosphere..
