This is a well situated hotel in very pleasant grounds and a good car park. The staff are personable and the bedroom was clean, with a comfortable bed. However the building is dated and a bit tired. The continental breakfast was thin, with a fruit salad that was mainly melon and only two yogurts, but no suitable spoons! There was... More

We stayed for one night, which was enough. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, it is old and dated. In our room a couple of the wall lights were not fixed to the wall, the bathroom is very tired, and the huge desk in the room had severe damage to the top. The bed was clean and comfortable... More

If you are a coach tour going here to stay. AVOID. We were on a mystery trip so had no choice. The staff cannot cope with a lot of people, they were running around like headless chickens. We had a coach full of 49 they didn't have enough chairs or tables in the very small dining area so some had... More

Hotel staff helpful, food good (and Ime a veggie), Chocolate pudding good. Room clean, and bed comfy. Slept well, although we don't usually manage to in hotels. No lift, although we did not need one, but there is only one flight of stairs. . No problems at all.

Nearly all bedrooms back onto avery busy junction of the A1. It was like a truck roadshow all night. The fact it was a junction added to the level of noise through constant breaking. Absolutely no sound proofing. 30 minutes sleep I managed. Took me 3 hours to drive hear to be tortured and by 4am I drove home again.... More

This hotel seems to fit the Travelodge model of budget accommodation but with some small details like sub and phone connectors in the room. Clean and reasonably well equipped, staff friendly and polite. The in house Restaurant has a basic menu but the food is excellent and well presented. The food and little details make this an excellent alternative to... More

Visited for a reunion with approximately 95 other well seasoned travellers. Room basic but clean and spacious with usual basic provisions, Our food was served away from the main hotel due to the large numbers. No problem for me but might be for others less mobile. Any deficiency admirably made up by the delightful staff. Every member of staff was... More

here for a 3 night stay on business , double room for single occupancy only it was two single beds cobbled together - not completely unusual but the fact that one mattress was soft and the other hard made for an uncomfortable night's sleep ! The shower only put out very hot water from both taps - a fault I... More

The hotel is located right next to the A1 which is a wonderful aid in locating it. The problem is that like many UK hotels there is not air conditioning so in the summer when the weather is hot one has to use a fan - but if the window is open it really does get noisy. This is particularly... More
