We reserved #22 which was up some stairs and basically in the attic of the building. Our room was ok, except for the slanted ceilings above both beds. On the first day I got up and nearly gave myself a concussion from hitting the slanted ceiling. thankfully I fell right back onto the bed, but I couldn't move for several...

We booked L34 which has 2 full(?) beds with its own room and a connecting bathroom. I specifically requested a quiet room and this one is in a building separate from the 2 story main structure. I knew this place was popular with younger people and climbers. We didn't anticipate that the beds would be in separate rooms but it...

Stayed at Whittaker's and was right where we needed to be for exploring Rainer. A nice staging area with outfitting and guide service available, if needed. We ended our trip enjoying a Whittaker ice cream swinging on the outside swing. Beautiful day, wonderful experience.

Really noisy... you can hear your neighbours, even the zipper of their suitcases..... you hear them talk, cough, etc. Beds are not very comfortable and cushions way to flat. For $100 I expect more. The setting is nice btw, and the meals are okay.

Had originally booked two nights here but changed to one. The room very simple and small but fine for one night. Unfortunately we had some loud neighbours and the walls are pretty thin. Staff were friendly and run the lodging as well as a small cafe. I had a great coffee here but was a little disappointed when I ordered...

I made an online reservation here. The reservation system showed me an Availability Calendar with individual room selections, etc. I made a reservation for 3 nights and got a CONFIRMATION EMAIL in just a few hours (they said 24-48 hrs). I called from SeaTac and left a VM saying we'd be in as late as 10 pm on our arrival...

Unfortunately you did not receive a CONFIRMATION EMAIL. You received an automatic email acknowledging you reservation REQUEST, and that a confirmation would be sent with-in 24-48 hours. If you provide us with proof that indeed you received a personalized confirmation from Whittakers Bunkhouse, we will give you 6 nights free accommodations good for a year. We are truly sorry for...

My wife and our thee kids stayed in #21 for the weekend. Made a nice base camp for us. We spent our days hiking the trails in the park. Our balcony made for some early morning nature sights. The staff was nice and met all our needs. Yes I would recommend and stay again.

We generally stay here when climbing Mount Rainier. It's very simple but comfortable. Not a lot of options in the area and they do cater to climbers. That staff is wonderful though. It can get a bit noisy when everybody is up early getting ready to climb. No frills but nice.

As stated by the previous reviews the motel has a rustic charm that fits the area and makes a good location for an overnight stay while hiking or climbing Mt. Rainier. The rooms are simple, no tv or frills, but a clean place to rest your head. Prior reviews were correct about the flat pillows and hard beds, but no...

Was climbing Mt. Rainier with RMI. Not that many options, but this was convenient. The staff in the coffee house works hard to accommodate the guests. If you're mindset is for climbing - this is a nice place to start and end your climbing trip. Everything is there for your climb: Access to food, equipment and guide service.
