Nice comfortable hotel but in this price bracket it’s about managing expectations. If it was 120 pounds a night I would be giving 4to5 stars but paying 150 pounds well, I think it’s a little overpriced. For that kind of money you almost expect a glass of fizz at reception and a chocolate on your pillow rather than window boxes...

A charming old style hotel with up-to-the-minute facilities such as wi-fi and TV in every room. The carpets are a little jaded in places but this adds to the charm rather than make the place look tawdry. The owners do their utmost to make you feel welcome and at home. They are most obliging, friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are something...

The Royal Hotel is a small family run hotel which is dog friendly. We wanted a small hotel near Crieff so that we could climb Ben Chonzie and enjoy a break. We found this hotel perfect for this. We, (and that includes our small Jack Russell), were shown to a large room on the second floor overlooking the square and...

I have previously had lunch and drinks in this hotel, but had never stayed, so when an Itison deal appeared, I decided to indulge myself and my husband. Overall I would say it was probably better than average, but not as good as I had anticipated. The small details are important - I had to ask on both days for...

Perhaps the previous staff have now left as we were overwhelmed by how friendly and attentive the staff were. It us such a relaxing and comfortable stay, really clean and the food was excellent . Beds so comfortable and room well appointed. The public...

My friend & I found ourselves in Comrie on a miserable Sunday morning looking for coffee! We decided on the Royal as I always feel you get a good cup of coffee in a hotel. The place was pretty empty & as it was around 10.30ish they were probably clearing breakfast. This is a really nice looking hotel with homely...

My husband and I stayed for one night with our dog in a standard room. I found the staff excellent, even finding me a couple of bowls for my dog to use. The lady owner was so helpful giving us advice on walks and lending us a map. We had dinner in the hotel and was impressed. Not huge portions...

We held our wedding reception at The Royal Hotel and could not have been more delighted. We had 35 guests for the meal. The food was excellent. The hotel manageress, Jolene could not have been more helpful and did everything she said she would and for price quoted. All the other staff were equally friendly and helpful to us and...

We visited recently to have a meal with friends for a 50th birthday celebration. We were welcomed warmly on arrival and were escorted to the restaurant and it went down hill from here. The restaurant was freezing with a draught coming from the door to the bar which was constantly opening. The meal was also cold and I can only...

A comfortable, warm and welcoming hotel in the cantre of the village. Service was attentive and keen, but without being a pain. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the bar as we'd had a long day, no issues and great service. Opened up for breakfast a little early to aid travel, which was appreciated.
