I went here for a walking weekend. Very nice location and a nice clean room. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good, Uncomplicated food with reasonable portions and a good breakfast. Restaurant was busy in the evenings and for Sunday lunch. Will definitely be going back when going to this region.

Had a very warm welcome and the service during our stay was very good. The room was cosy and the scrambled eggs at breakfast were lovely!! We didnt eat there in the evening but the specials board looked reasonably priced. BUT I did feel that the room we stayed in needed a good dust (given the age of the building...

Right from the warm, professional and friendly welcome we were delighted with this place. The location is lovely and the property is clean and well kept. There are a couple of tables outside (which was great as the weather was glorious) but plenty of grassy areas to wander around. All very well maintained. Our room was very generous in size with...

I visited with some friends for a roast dinner and we were very disappointed. The soup to start was bland and under seasoned and the pate did not have anywhere near enough bread. Then came the roast, the meat was so over cooked and tough. The potatoes were undercooked and had no crisp or colour. The Yorkshire pudding was old...

We were a group of 7, and my husband and I stayed on the upper floor in the separate stable block in a superior room. The room was warm, clean and comfortable, with views over the countryside which were beautiful and peaceful. The staff service was excellent, with the staff organising a mincab for us on arrival as we wanted...

We went for dinner and really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful from the minute we walked in. The lodge is nicely decorated and really comfortable. The food was excellent, there is a good range of items on the menu and it is very reasonably priced. We had smoked mackerel pate and fish cakes to start...

Stayed here with my partner on the weekend just for a little romantic get away from our working lives at home. We arrived in plenty of time before we could check in at 3 o'clock, so we decided to find something to do while we waited. There wasn't much around to do unfortunately which was a shame but we found...

Clean airy rooms, initially a bit cold. Bathroom could do with its own radiator rather than just the heated towel rail. Friendly and welcoming staff. Courtyard and car park gets a bit muddy in rains hence beware if wearing nice clothes or shoes. Wifi available in reception only, poor Vodafone and EE network indoors. Overall though nice and pleasant stay.

This is a hidden gem, with hotel standards in the informal setting of a barn conversion. It's tasteful yet unpretentious decor and the knowledgeable and welcoming staff make it a very comfortable base for a visit to this beautiful area. We received lots of helpful advice from the staff on places to see and even the loan of an OS...

We only stayed one night. We stayed in Superior rooms on a dinner B&B rate. The middle of February one cannot expect nice weather and it was very chilly. However, all areas of the hotel were well heated particularly the bar and restaurant areas. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had dinner which was very good. Breakfast was excellent....

The lodge has its own lounge bar, providing local and international beers and wines. A cosy restaurant with a delicious a la-carte menu serving seasonal local produce, which all makes for a great dining experience.
