This tiny hotel at the edge of the desert is an amazing treasure albeit in the need of some TLC. We found it a bit dark and dusty, with clusters of dead moths behind the window panes, a dusty collection of National Geographics from like the seventies, and an old sticky coffee maker that could definitely stand to be washed...

Jim rules! Stayed at the hotel. Very cute. Wanna try a cabin next time i'm through that way. Jim set us up for a late check in. Everything was smooth as glass. If you're going to the park it starts just behind the place. Rates are good.

Just next to Mojave Desert is the ONLY place you should stay when visiting the preserve. In Nipton, which is just a country store and a few houses is a tiny hotel, which is one of the cutest places I've ever stayed in small town US. Just a few comfy bedrooms with a living room and kitchen to share and...

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Nipton! Nipton is a great place to escape the city life, where it can be difficult to see the stars and relax. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue the use of the hot tub but that won't stop you from seeing the stars touch the horizon in Nipton!

Hotel Nipton is an unlikely outpost at the edge of the Mojave National Preserve. I booked there for a week-long hiking trip in the Preserve, thinking I would just put up with a crummy nowhere motel experience; I planned to be out all day anyway. To my surprise the Nipton was a wonderful little place. It was a water, food,...

Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed your time at Hotel Nipton. We apologize for the inconvenience regarding food. Our cafe is currently being remodeled and updated, but will reopen on June 1st. The new name is Nana's Railroad Cafe, serving up homestyle cooking. We highly recommend visiting Hotel Nipton after the cafe is up and running....

How can you not love a place out in the middle if nowhere, whose only real saving grace is just that. The shower (down the hall) was Luke warm, there's nowhere to eat for 50 miles, and their Continental breakfast was some muffins that you can heat up in the microwave, if you know how to bang on it just...

Thank you for taking the time to leave Hotel Nipton a review. We are glad you had a heck of a lot of fun! We apologize the welcome sheet was not clear about the shower water, the shower must be run for a few minutes to adequately heat up. The cafe has been remodeled and will reopen as Nana's Railroad...

As others had written, this funky historic previous railroad community hotel is not for everyone but its the perfect spot for a post-camping trip. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, free ice at attached country store which has beer, drinks, a few desert books, T-shirts, and California lottery tickets. We stayed in fm 5 with two twin beds...right across from...

We stayed two nights here, while visiting the Mojave National Preserve. It is clean, generally quiet and nicer than we thought from the photos. Susan and Jim were the two that worked in the Nipton Trading Post and were most accommodating. A continental breakfast is served and they were generous in offering a wide variety of things. The bedrooms were...

I've visited the Nipton Store many times and have always wanted to stay at the Hotel. I finally got to a few weeks ago. The Hotel has 5 rooms, we stayed in room 5-nearest the 2 shared showers and bathrooms. Room 3 was a favorite of Silent Film Star, Clara Bow, who stayed at the Hotel when she needed a...

We are glad you had a chance to stay in the hotel! We hope you enjoyed your stay. We agree it's good to take advantage of the earplugs we provide if the train is bothersome, and also to call the hotel to make a reservation. We hope to see you again!

I stayed here during a trip to the desert (actually for Cima Hill). It';s the only place in town, but it was very comfortable. The check-in was at the next-door Trading Post, the proprietress of which was very helpful and friendly. The Hotel has just five rooms, opening out onto a large "family room" lounge area, and shared bathroom facilities....

Nipton is a tiny tree-filled oasis in the vast Mojave Desert Preserve. An old railroad town that has one general store and one place to stay--and this is it. The rooms are very small, but that's what one would expect in a historic hotel. There is a large communal lounge, if you feel social. The five rooms share two bathrooms...
