Very friendly and helpful owner. Clean big room with bathroom and balcony, very testy breakfast. If you want to watch colibres, just go to balcony in this hostel. Hostel is located near to town center.
We loved our stay at Bio Hostal, we wish we could have stayed longer, great atmosphere, very comfortable and clean room and bathroom, the terrace is great for bird-watching and the dinner we had there was by far the BEST food we had in Ecuador!...More
We were only one night but the room was clean and quiet. Friendly manager and staff. Close to everything. Mid range for sure and very good quality. Wonderful breakfast. Balconies have feeders for hummingbirds.

There are 3 or more buses per day directly to Mindo center from Ophelia bus station in the north of Quito. However I would recommend taking the ecovia (25 cents) which travels from the old town along 6 decembre to Rio Coco station, transfering to the large northstation (terreste norte) in Carcelen, and taking any bus going to the coast that will stop at top of hill near Mindo. Then take a taxi into town. There is always a bus leaving along this route with minimal wait, no worries about advance purchases or schedule, quick and easy.
