We stayed there for a holiday weekend, rooms are nice and clean, food is good. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's near Mindo so the weather is perfect and it's a 10 min car ride to it. Good heated pool and paths for birdwatching and walking.

I just returned from a medical mission in Mindo, Ecuador and had the pleasure of staying at Sachatamia. This was my 8th visit to Mindo but my first time staying at the lodge. I can honestly say that I have only excellent things to say about my stay. First of all the staff was great and they were constantly reminding...

We stopped for lunch while passing through on business. It was a foggy, drizzly day, we decided to take a walk down to a small stream before lunch - it takes about an hour. The forest felt primeval, dense and dark with fern trees and bromeliads abounding. The restaurant feels like it was imported directly from Bavaria with dark wood...

If visiting in the Quito area and you have time, this would be a lovely place to stay for a couple or three nights for rest and relaxation in a peaceful place. I went to only walk in the cloud forest and very much enjoyed the experience of seeing the many hummingbirds and wandering along the trails among the lush...

There's an amazing view from the hillside property, but it was raining, so we didn't get to enjoy it long. We were asked to remove our shoes and given an option of sock feet, bare feet, or the footies they hand out when you go through a show home. The flooring is wood and the stairs to the guestroom level...

A lovely lunch on our way out of Mindo. We arrived and put the booties over our mud clogged shoes in the vestibule. It was quiet inside and we ordered before stepping out into the lush gardens. An endless array of previously unseen species of hummingbirds feast at the well stocked feeders around the property. We peeked into the bungalows,...

I've spend a wonderful time at Shachatamia. I love watching birds and the peaceful place of the lake. I really enjoy every moment there. Everyone is very kind, they are looking for everything you need. It's the best sport to spend a relaxing weekend out of the noise of the city.

The peace and beauty surrounding the bungalows is refreshing. For nature lovers this is a real paradise, many different species of reptiles, insects, ans hummingbirds. It´s 10 minutes away form Mindo by car. The pool y jacuzzi are a plus for those who return exhausted after long hikes or adventure activities. Totally recommended.
