I loved this place...maybe extra loved it since it was at the end of our trip and this was our "nice" hotel my bf treated us for the night. The river was going crazy from a lot of rain but the sound was very relaxing and amazing to stay so near it, in the cottage and also for the breakfast...

While this was a neat place to stay---literally in the middle of the woods---there wasn't much to do. The cabin we stayed in was nice, but the blinds were broken...which made it a bit creepy when going to bed. The water was brown, so I didn't feel comfortable showering and the wifi was SO SLOW that I never could use...

Our cabin was on noisy creek that lulled us to sleep each night. Delicious food available and very kind staff helped us non-speaking gringos get around. Referred us to super bird guide Alex Luna who found us 60 species in just 4 hrs! Gonna miss the easy birding in the garden and nearby trails.

We are American expats living in Quito for three months as part of a world tour during which we are trying out possible retirement destinations. Shortly after arriving with an Ecuadorian friend from the United States, we accepted a suggestion from his cousin that we make a two-day excursion out to the Cloud Forest around Mindo, overnighting there, to see...

We liked the place very much. The lodge is nice there is one cabin next to the river but honestly the sound is too strong at night to sleep the staff is very kind. The food is good. We had an excellent time! They have some kids play sets like pool, air hockey, table soccer and is conveniently located very...

It was a bit of an adventure getting to Mindo Garden. We organised the taxi driver who picked us up on arrival at Quito (3 days later) to take us to Mindo for $100 U.S (for 3 people). Alvaro was an amazing amateur tour guide as well! He had never been to Mindo so he enjoyed the opportunity to see...

No one answer the phone or the email on the website. I did an online reservation and found out that the reservation was not done at all one day before the trip. So the website doesn't work at all. I'm sorry but i wouldn't recommend a place like this at all.

There are a lot of options in Mindo for hotels, hostels and inns. I've stayed in many of them - and highly recommend Mindo Garden. It's a tranquil oasis outside of town - and close to the butterfly habitat. We stayed in the Bird House (casa de aves) - there are three adorable bedrooms (each with its own private bathroom)...

Right in front of Mindo River, Mindo Garden has a big garden, a restaurant and a bar. It offers rooms with private bathrooms. With cottages wooden roofs and large windows overlooking the garden, rooms at Mindo Garden are very bright. All of them have private bathrooms with hot running water. Breakfast and meals in general are good served . Specialties...

We spend 3 nights here, if you have your own car it is an ideal place to be, far from the noice, good food, even better breakfast, nice birds in the garden, nice people and decent houses, the only thing is that the houses are split and that the walks between them are not very thick (but the water of...
