For the last ten years friends and I visit Montanita annually as a group of volunteers in the community, and since year one we stay at Hanga Roa. I cannot recommend them more highly. Rooms are simple and clean, and the atmosphere on the point is quiet and laid back compared to the town, not to mention the hostal is...

This has been my favourite place so far during my South America trip. Great staff (thanks Pablo and Fermin), ideal location with terraces and hammocks overlooking the surf point, clean comfortable rooms with fans, fast wifi, delicious breakfast. As other reviewers said it's more like a hotel, also it doesn't have a bar or party vibe.

lovely staff and owner, best location in the quiet end of the beach, right by the sand. We came for one night and stayed till we had to come back home. The staff are delightful and looked after us like we were family. Lovely!

We stayed here for a week during low season and had the place to ourselves. It is more like a budget hotel than a hostel - no bar or party vibe, but that was fine with us as we were seeking relaxation and beach access. (Actually we moved there after one night at a noisy hostel nearby). Simple rooms with...

I stayed there for a night, the place is decent they have hot water in the shower, fan but the cool thing is that they have parking and direct access to the beach. Also they have hammocs so is great for an afternoon rest/nap. No Tv or A/C but come on you dont really need Tv in montañita.

We stayed at Hanga Roa Hostal over New Year which was obviously the reason for the higher price. The hostel lies at the seafront and we were lucky to stay in the only room with direct access to the terrace and sea view. Our room was so tiny there was no space for suitcase and backpack. One could hardly enter...

Stayed here for 4 nights. My buddy and I paid $15/person/night for the first 2 nights but then paid $25/person/night for the weekend because it was the holiday. Breakfast was included and the restaurant was right on the beach which was great but the breakfast was pretty standard: coffee, juice, bread and egg. The room itself was pretty basic, we...
