We have spent a week on the Manatee cruising the Rio Napo in Ecuador and it has been amazing. I have read some of the complaints written about the boat particularly but I think that if you put into context where you are in the world they are insignificant things. It is quite old but very clean & comfortable and...

The use of the word Amazon is FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING. The boat is on the Napo River which in NO WAY is the Amazon. We were hundreds of miles from the Amazon. The Napo is barely navigable in some spots and is laced with sand bars that cause boats to wind their way along the river missing hazards as they go....

Thank you very much for your feedback, our guests opinions always help us to improve. It is important to consider that the Amazon region covers the most important rainforest area in South America including the following countries: Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador. Furthermore, the Amazon River is born with the Napo River and the Marañon River and are the...

If you love nature; birds, trees, frogs, monkeys and don't mind seeing them wet (either from sweat or rain) this is the holiday for you. The crew of the Manatee are superbly well organised and do their absolute best to help you enjoy your stay on the Napo river. Waking up in the morning and looking out on the Amazonian...

Dear Ricky Thank you very much for your comment. The crew were informed about your words of gratitude and are very happy to hear them. That's excellent news that found jaguar footprints. This animal is very difficult to see, even a person can be cataloged lucky with only see their footprints; hope that you have many photos of that. The...

Itinerary: We took the weekend trip which takes you on a night walk, to the clay lick and observation tower to see parrots. We encountered monkeys, an anaconda, a wild boar, carrier ants out of National Geographic, visited an aboriginal cultural centre, and canoed through a swampy area where we saw caimans and birds in the pouring rain. It felt...

Spent 3 nights on the Manatee to and from Coca. Enjoyed the experience immensely. The canoe ride from Coca to the Manatee was as expected, 1.5 hrs and rain squalls to test out the ponchos. Manager, Rubén, made us welcome and our guides/ naturalists Raoul and Diego, made sure we saw all of the wildlife that was around. Yes the...

What an unbelievable trip on the Manatee! We were welcomed with fresh juice and snacks when we first boarded and every time after that. What a treat - juice was never duplicated. I have been vacillating between Poor and Very Good Ratings. The Manatee's concept is very good, but this particular trip was wrought with problems. I don't think the size of the rooms or the condition of the ship was unacceptable. Actually we found the room to be very comfortable and well maintained. If you want luxury, you shouldn't choose a...
