We were offered the Manatee as an interesting excursion on our way to the Galapagos and ended up not wanting to leave. The Manatee is an intimate riverboat (20 people at most) that provides a semi-rustic visit to the Amazonia without giving up on the basic amenities such as A/C in the cabin. It is not a luxury cruiser but...

thank you very much, we appreciate your comment very much. As you say, the idea of Manatee is always moving and try to show all the Rio Napo, because in Rainforest all the days are different; it's amazing to hear that you enjoyed the sun rises of the Amazon because are beautiful. We hope to see you soon.

Our core tour group of 8 old friends vacationed on the Manatee Explorer this past summer. It was a great experience. Unfortunately they couldn't keep the rain away. (it is a rain forest after all) It rained most of our trip. We were disappointed that we didn't see many animals. We did see quite a few pink dolphins and fresh...

Bonnie, thank you very much, we appreciate your comment very much. As you say, the rain forest is unpredictable and rain no longer depends on us. We appreciate your feedback about the service, guides and food. Thanks for choosing us and hope to see you again.

We did a 5 day / 4 night tour. We arrived at Coca for the transfer to the Manatee Explorer by motorized canoe 1 1/2 hrs down stream. The Napo river was much larger and wider than expected, although it was very shallow in parts due to the sand banks. The accommodation was smaller than expected, do not expect a...

I booked the 4 night trip on the Manatee early March 2015 travelling solo. There were only three guests on board which was great. We were picked up at Coca and the motorised canue took us up the Napo river to where the Manatee was moored which took about two hours. The Manatee is a lovely boat - I had...

The Manatee was rated highly and the travel agents really pushed their "good" reputation. I was extremely disappointed. If you want an air-conditioned room and to have drinks on the deck of the cruise ship while squinting to barely see wildlife then this trip is for you! The very few excursions were in a very loud motorized canoe which scared...

We took the 4 night cruise and absolutely loved it! The crew was very helpful; the food was outstanding; we spent a lot of time in the canoe seeing wildlife! It is not luxurious, but quite comfortable. This is a place where you have to trust the guides to adapt to conditions on the fly, and they did that very...

I mainly choosed this trip for the (expected) convencience of travelling by boat, seeing the landscape, vegetation, some wildlife and local culture The Manatee is reached by 2 hours in motorcanoe from Coca. Has a capacity og 24 guests. Dining room, bar, sundeck. Crew spole little English, but seemed to be very good at their jobs. Excellent naturalis guide (Raoul)...

Thank you very much for your comment, and apology to respond so late. With the theme of the canoes, it need to have engine by the current of Rio Napo, but we have activities in small rivers that can paddle to not scare the animals. On the issue of wildlife always is difficult to see animals, the forest is a...

This is a boat that has been photographed in its early years. It's old and needs upgrading. The shower door of our toilet came off twice. The toilet is small and crammed. The furnishings are tired. The redeeming quality is the food and the efficient staff. There is however this issue with security. There are no keys given for the...
