this was the beginning of the rail trail and what a fab little place, dunstan house is only the start of what you can expect in Clyde, the hotel is gorgeous, MAC sponsor a free bottle of beer so we sat on the veranda watching the world go by with a beer (incidentally a number of hotels also have the...

Like so many others, we stayed at the Dunstan House before departing on the Otago Rail Trail. In many ways, we wish we had ridden the other way just so we could finish up in such a lovely, old hotel. The place was been lovingly refurnished so that it has all the modern conveniences and yet has lost none of...

We stayed in the suite - a wonderful stop before 4 days on the Otago Central Rail Trail. Our excellent hosts, John and Maree, made sure our stay was hassle free - nothing was a trouble for them. Continental breakfast was great, and full of variety. Absolutely worth a visit

Booked through Trail Journeys we stayed here the night before embarking on the Otago rail trail. Upon arrival we were enthusiastically met by the owners and shown to our room. A good size bedroom with comfy bed. The en suite was in a separate room with copious amounts of space for my favourite pass time (cat swinging)!. The bed was...

We stayed at Dunstan House after completing the Rail Trail. Beware, do not judge this accommodation from the outside - get in there and enjoy the experience. Dunstand House, with its veranda, looks a throw back to colonial and goldrush days. The inside has bee restored very tastefully, in keeping with the period, and arrival into the foyer and staircase...

We had the pleasure of staying un Dunstan House prior to starting our cycling trip of the Roxburgh & Clutha trails. We stayed in the suite with a separate living room. The building has been very tastefully renovated and featured antique furnishings. The continental breakfast was lovely. We would love to stay there again.

Wow, what a place! Beautifully historic. Had it all to ourselves, being the first on the trail for the season can do that. The owner/operators were lovely and accommodating. Even managed to learn about the earliest beginnings of Clyde and they have some great stories and secrets here, but you will have to discover them for yourselves, because I am...

We stayed for the start of our cycling trip through the Otago rail trail. Very hospitable, friendly helpful hosts. Lovely breakfast, and exceptional attention to detail. Beautiful bathroom. Only downside is it is not very sound proof!

We appreciate your review and understand your comment. A helpful reminder for me to allocate rooms carefully when we have a night of mixed guests ie cyclists and friends gathering socially for a meal together in Clyde.

I expected Carson (from Downton Abbey to greet us! :)) A wonderful step back in time to the early 1900's. Beautiful heritage hotel with chattels to match- down to the china teacups and tea cosy's. The small touches added to the ambiance. Breakfast was outstanding with so much choice and good hearty tasty food to start the day -especially if...

The most perfect start to our Rail Trail adventure! This wonderful Hotel is full of history and beautifully preserved with comfortable beds, clean rooms and an amazing buffet breakfast to start our day. John entertained with stories and background info on the building, it's past inhabitants and local history. Wandering around town is also an awesome experience - we can...
