It wasn't the fault of our hosts that frustrating low cloud and drizzle prevented our helicopter ride over the glaciers around Mount Cook. They did their best in offering clean, comfortable and hospitable accommodation with Gary keeping us posted on latest weather reports and Jane making us feel at home with her 2 young daughters, her amusing dogs and her... A lovely homestay, where you really feel a part of the family during your stay. Both Jane and Gary have a very relaxed approach and a wealth of knowledge about the area and will happliy advise on the best things to do in the area. Fox Glacier is a lovely little town set in one of the most beautiful areas... More

Jane and Gary couldn't have been better hosts. They spent the time to give us so much local information, great things to do, and excellent restaurant recommendations. the kids are a delight, and the dogs and cat so much fun to be around. And despite pets and kids the place was spotless, beautifully clean. The bedroom and en suite were... More

We totally agree with all the excellent reviews you have received and we'd especially like to thank you all for your wonderful hospitality and valuable advice. The walk around Lake Matheson is a must, and well worth getting up early for to catch the reflections before wind ripples the lake. Also the comfortable bed was sublime!

With this B&B you are immediately part of the family. Jane, who works for Fox Glacier Guides, Gary who is with the Dept. of Conservation (also volunteer fireman, etc.) Meghan (aged 9 ) & Isla (aged 7). The girls are keen to be involved with you, and will be delighted to show you school awards and tell you about their... More

This was a really good choice of B&B. Easy to spot with its white fox logo and centrally placed for good walking distance evening eateries. Jane and Gary with daughters Meghan (silent h) and Isla (silent s) make a great family to be with. Jane works in tourism and has all the necessary local information you can possibly need. Gary... In this welcoming bed and breakfast, visitors become part of the family. Before we even arrived, Jane emailed us a wonderful itinerary of places to see along our planned route and places to see around Fox Glacier during our stay. Our room shared the same hallway as the family's. It was beautifully decorated with a lovely ensuite bathroom. The two... More

What an opportunity to be able to spend the night in the home of a New Zealand DOC Ranger! Centrally located, our hosts are a short walk to Fox Glacier's town. Many restaurants and cafes from which to choose line the charming high street.. Our large and immaculate bedroom was beautifully presented and very comfortable . This included an en... More

Stayed for a couple of nights while over for the RWC2011, As said in previous reviews Jane & Gary are great and Jane had already sorted and booked our trip up to Fox Glacier when we arrived. Very well behaved pets (2 dogs and 1 cat). We even helped out with rugby related homework that the girls had. Oh and... More

We stayed for a couple of nights - this is more a 'home stay' than a B&B, which made it even nicer. The hosts, Jane & Gary are lovely and are able to help organise anything you need while visiting the area. Their knowledge of the local area is second to none, as Gary is a 4th generation Fox Glacier... More
