This hotel is ideal as it is a few minutes walk from the Creek Shopping centre with many places nearby for eating although the hotel included a hot cooked breakfast in the price a little bonus as the hotel was reasonably priced for the location. Free parking as well although not a lot of room to manouver.

I saw this gem here on trip advisor. The price was very good, included a cooked to order breakfast. The parking is tricky, I recommend no car bigger than a min van or like sized SUV. She is an older hotel, but she has class. You can tell it is a labor of love if you know what to look... More

If you want a hotel that is located near the Temple area this place is your best bet. Rooms are big with two bedrooms with three beds. The underground parking can be tricky in entering and leaving. There are not many spaces available. Book early. Breakfast is free but if you want eggs etc then you order from the menu.... More

It is easy to see the generations of Carlton charm, from the original 1920s through its 20th century remodels. The rooms are big enough for sleeping, relaxing, and work. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, from the airport shuttle driver, to the lobby personnel, to the building staff. The amenities range from late 1990s to more modern conveniences. The included cooked-to-order breakfast... More

I have been staying at Carlton Hotel for several years, each year several times, for 2 nights at a time, and it's a home away from home. I've always enjoyed the friendly service and the well maintained historic rooms, many are large and some of them suites. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast to order is a... More

I am hesitant to even publish this review because I really like the people who own and operate this hotel. I have stayed there multiple times over the past several years. I always return because of the friendly employees, awesome Temple Square/City Creek Center location, free local shuttle, and affordable rates. The hotel was never fancy. The decor is dated,... More

The Carlton is rather ancient. Rooms are worn, but clean. Hosts very pleasant. Weekly price can't be beat. Free shuttle. No iron or hairdryer in room, but I think you can request them from desk. The property next door is also owned by the hotel. It is terribly run down and seems to serve as some sort of halfway house.... More

First time visitors to SLC and this find was great. Cheap for an overnight stay for 2A& 3Ks perfectly situated for walking access to city tourist spots and restaurants. Breakfast was included and the chef experience was worth the cost to see the children's faces when they experienced old school service from a hard line cook who owned her space.... More

If you have traveled in Europe, you will recognize the cozy feeling of an out-of-the-way inn. Except this is right downtown within walking distance of almost everything. I felt as if I were staying in a B&B. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend the Carlton without a second thought. If I ever get back to... More

Clean, spacious and highly organized hotel. I love this place. I highly recommend as its relatively cheap, clean and really well taken care of. The entire room is larger than a one bedroom in NYC. There was even a kitchen. And it only cost less than $100 after tax. Wow.
