Welcome to the Albuquerque North/Bernalillo KOA. On the road to Santa Fe, just north of Albuquerque, exit 240 North, 242 South or 550 East, is located a flower filled oasis where our helpful staff will make your stay a memorable one. We also added a BRAND NEW WiFi system that works great throughout the campground! The campground features a shaded pool (a rarity in the desert) just steps from your Kamping Kabin, tent site or RV pull thru. It's a terrific gathering spot for groups and families with an outdoor covered pavilion, NEW WiFi system, playground, volleyball, horseshoes, 2 dog parks, a book exchange, and video rental along with a great gift shop boasting Native American crafts, snacks, drinks, RV supplies and everyday essentials. Catch the new Rail Runner Express in Bernalillo only half a mile away (within walking distance) for train excursions to explore downtown Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Belen. The campground also offers easy access to the attractions of New Mexico's two largest cities, as well as to ancient Indian ruins (in Bernalillo), ghost towns, pueblos and all the beauty of the Southwest. Just head West on 550 to highway 4 to the Jemez village where you can swim in the soda damn, soak in the natural hot spring pots and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery New Mexico has to offer. We are the closest KOA to the World Famous International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta just 9 miles away. Every October the skies are filled with every color, size and shape of balloons. An amazing spectacle you’ll want to see. No car, that’s okay we have a free shuttle that will take you to the Santa Ana Casino where you can enjoy a fun filled evening of dining, bowling (kid friendly with arcade) and entertainment just minutes away. They will always pick you up for an exhilarating round of world famous golf. Feel like staying in, Pizza Hut and Dominos will always deliver to your campsite. On the weekends for your enjoyment free G/PG rated movies are shown in the grassy outdoor covered pavilion where you can purchase snacks and popcorn to add to your viewing pleasure.

The camp ground is well maintained and the workers are very nice. Don't leave anything out at night someone stole our blue camp chairs on Sunday Oct.15 2023 I can't believe campers steal from campers.

Great spot for overnight stays! We have stayed here a number of times during our travels. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Park very clean. Pool looked inviting in the 100+ weather. Dog runs are good. All dirt but that's ok - the one in the back corner has lots of shade. Easy on and off to I25 and 550.

Poor management policy regarding cancellation refund policies during the balloon festival. As a KOA VIP member for more than 6 years I've never had an issue with any KOA cancellations or changes until now with the Bernalillo KOA Journey. I cancelled 6 months prior to the reservation date and there was no exception for a KOA VIP member. POOR management policy.

Very clean, quiet, well situated convenient to freeways but no freeway noise only an occasional sweet train! Located in an industrial area but inside the park you wouldn’t know. Staff very pleasant. Park well maintained. Among the better KOA’s. Older property with newer management. Enjoyed browsing the campground store.

They win the longest time to check in award. We are KOA members and they still can't do better than a 30 minute check in. That is bad. Nice day.. park half full, it cant be this hard to check Simeone in. We made reservations 4 months ago. Sunny day ..noon time.. very quit , but still cant check us in.

We stayed here one night and would probably stay here again. The sites are super narrow though. Our bigger fifth wheel took up the entire width. Ours was plenty long though. Very nice customer service at the office. The best thing about this park is the brew pub next door. (Kaktus Brewery-see review). The location is perfect with easy access to the freeway, close drive to restaurants and businesses in Bernalillo and Rio Rancho. The narrow sites and narrow road to get to the site were the only negatives.

I am a travel nurse coming to Albuquerque with my teen son and dog. We were very excited to stay at a cabin at the KOA during my contract. The area and amenities were lovely and KOA presents itself as very dog-friendly. When I booked for the extended stay by phone the manager only mentioned that we couldn’t store belongings on the cabin’s front porch. And when I said my son was turning 17 he offered him a work opportunity (these details are important) The first day we got all settled in for a nice long stay and the manager once again mentioned my son doing some work for him. We signed the usual waiver to be financially responsible for any pet damages. The next day WHILE I WAS AT THE HOSPITAL working a 12 hour shift he approached my son alone, told him dogs weren’t allowed at the cabins (they were allowed at all the other cabins, just arbitrarily not ours), told my son I lied to him about having a dog (a weird thing to lie about, as a 45 lb dog is pretty obvious), then told my son he was to young to work for him, insinuating I also lied about his age. Then spent the day following and harassing my son, to the point of sitting in front of our cabin watching him. The next morning he approached and asked “what are you going to do about your dog.” Once again accusing me of lying to him. I incredulously asked if he was really kicking us out over an arbitrary dog policy he never once mentioned(the cabin next to us had 3 dogs, which incidentally were running loose while he was harassing us). He said he wasn’t kicking us out. Like, sure buddy, let me just bop on over to the animal shelter and drop my dog off so I can stay somewhere with a nasty manager that lies and creeps on teen boys when they’re alone. He is not the owner and the check out lady literally refused to give me the owners information to file a formal complaint. Please, if you are a travel nurse, single woman, LGBT+, or travel with teens, think twice about staying here! Based on other reviews, he had a habit of preying on certain people to bully

Last time I stayed here, I was in a tent and didn’t get a great night’s sleep. This time I was in a Camping Cabin and enjoyed my stay much more. Staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and well-kept. The campground offers a swimming pool, clean showers/restrooms, a covered patio near the pool and more. The single Camping Cabin was comfortable with a full size bed and twin bunk beds. The mattresses are far from plus, but comfortable enough. I put down a futon mattress to improve sleep quality. The Cabin had a TV, A/C, a portable heater, nightstand and a desk. Outside the Cabin is a concrete slab with a picnic table and umbrella. There is a grill outside and artificial turf. These cabins are upgrades from the standard KOA single Camping Cabins. Unlike other Cabins, there is no porch swing, so bring your camping chair. I was happy with the cost of the cabin, the service and the amenities. The KOA is conveniently located in Bernalillo, just a short drive to Main Street. Plenty of stores and restaurants are just a couple miles away.
