Loved the thought of a retro motel in pristine condition. Sorry that the tree was sacrificed to make this whole hotel, but think how many happy people have stayed here over 60 years. Beautifully maintained. Carport right outside room. Several rooms appear to be wheel chair accessible. HUGE rooms with 2 comfy beds, TV, chairs, desk, dresser and floor space....

57,000 board feet of lumber from one tree built this place that has been lovingly kept up by the son of the second owner. I would stay again in a heartbeat. The curly redwood of which the hotel is made is everywhere inside and out and is beautiful - thankfully he has resisted the advice to reduce his commitment by...

We were traveling down the Pacific Hwy for over a week. This location was good, near the seals and good restaurants. However I have big complaint concerning the mattress. Both my husband and I had a SLEEPLESS night as the mattress was SO hard and had backaches for a few days.

We try to please everyone, finding that perfect mattress for everyone is a bit of a task at all lodging properties. Some like firm, some like soft, some like pillow top, so we go in the middle. Sorry for your sleepless night.

The rooms are spacious and spotless. The shower is large and water plentiful. Typical small scratchy towels though. The old redwood accents are well maintained. Nice to have covered parking as it rains a lot. Only complaint: hard beds, hard pillows.

The woodwork is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean. It was a very convenient location for visiting Redwood National Park. The only downside was no coffee pot in the room and we had to wait until the front desk/lobby opened in the morning before we could get coffee (7:30-8-ish).

We needed a room quick, near the beach and affordable- this place was an exact match- while it is older - it's quaint and you can walk to restaurants, shops and the beach!!!! We had a comfortable bed, good shower and enough Windows could open to let in the air.

This is our second time staying here. The place is always A-1 maintained and clean. We loved it there.Stayed there about 12 years ago and when we traveled in the area again that was what we instantly thought of. Dependable service and right by everything. The variety of rooms accommodated our whole party's needs. I love wood and to stay...

My wife and I stayed at the CRL while visiting Redwoods NP. I found the desk staff to be quite friendly and helpful. I asked for dinner recommendations and she a book of menus she laid out. She had a map with each spot marked and a list of which were the favorites. She also gave me her favorite dishes...

Perfect place for you boomers. Built in the 50's and I'm guessing not much has been changed since then. The room was squeeky clean and spacious. Reservations and check in were very friendly. Negatives were: so-so beds, awful pillows, and thin scratchy towels, but it made you remember vacations when you were a kid, and that is what we knew...

Excellent service with healthy & fresh food choices. Fish & chips are great! Easy access & easy to find. They use local markets for fresh fruit, vegetables & seafood. You'll enjoy this restaurant, great place to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner when traveling through or staying in Crescent City.
