I camped solo for 8 nights. I really appreciated the showers and access to an electrical plug for my kettle - so great to have hot water for coffee without starting up the gas burner. It was nice being just outside the National Park, and...More
We camped In a pop-up. Loved the trees, quietness and location. We hiked into RMNP one day so that we didn't have to deal with parking. It's a little over a 1 mile hike to a shuttle bus stop. The staff were all nice and...More
Certainly one of the nicest, cleanest, and calm campgrounds I've ever been to. Gorgeous setting off the beaten path at the foot of the Eastern Portal, this gem was easy to get to and one of the smoothest checkins ever - saw us turning in,...More
We loved it. It is wooded and our little Rialta did fine on the dirt road. Our site had a beautiful view of the Rockies. Nice spacing between sites, water and electric. Bathhouses were clean and showers were free. So nice to be in the...More
This campground has spacious sites, with or without hookups, designed for smaller campers and tents. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. Great location with lots of trees. Took a hike to beautiful Sprague Lake!
So close, yet feels so far away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park. This very popular campground is located at an elevation of 8,300 feet at the end of a beautiful road just west of town. There are wonderful views of the snow covered peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park and access to the East Portal Reservoir which has ample opportunities for fishing. This double loop campground offers shady sites suitable for tenters and campers with small RVs and trailers shorter than 24 feet in length. It is especially well-suited for families and outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore nearby nature and trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Sites at this campground open up to views of Rocky Mountain National Park and starry nighttime skies. A mature blend of ponderosa and lodgepole pines interspersed with groves of aspens makes it a wonderful home away from home. It is an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. The camping season runs from May 15th - October 3rd.

35A was fairly private. A campground host RV was in front of us kind of close but they were inside the whole time and there was a thin line of trees between us. There were 2 bathrooms nearby. One was under construction 2 weeks ago when we were there. If it's done before you go there you'll have a brand new bathroom.
