My husband and I brought our 12 and 14 year old children with us to Estes Park for a long weekend. We got in late and received easy instructions on how to get our keys (the front desk is closed at night, though there is someone on call). We were in our suite so quickly and it was appreciated after a long day of traveling. We stayed in a chalet suite which has 2 bedrooms with king beds, a bathroom with a walk in shower and a jetted tub (only our son used), as well as a main area with a kitchenette, dining table, gas fireplace, and some seating (including a futon). The room was clean and I can tell that they have been putting in the effort to stay on top of wear and tear. There were a few minor issues--the pillows are very soft (but there are a lot of them), the fridge handle needs fixed, and the futon was not very comfortable for sleep. None of these things would stop me from recommending the Inn. The decor has a mountain cabin vibe and the view from room 35 was great! There is a "grab & go" breakfast and there were a lot of things to choose from, including multiple breads and bagels, Pop Tarts, at least 4 kinds of cereal, little waffles to toast, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, pastries, etc. I was very impressed by the selection. They also have a bin of snacks that are free and available all day, plus coffee all day. The pool and (outdoor) hot tub are in a separate building from the rest, but it's just like walking across a driveway to get there. The pool furniture needs cleaned or updated, but other than that we were satisfied. There were plenty of towels and the building is airy with lots of windows (not that we opened them when it was -2 outside). The hot tub is through some sliding doors on a deck and seats 4 comfortably, though you could probably add a couple people to that. We only went in it when it was just our family and it was quite relaxing. There are games and videos to check out (for free) in the lobby and the desk staff was always very nice. I think the main thing I would say about this establishment is that you could feel that they care about guest experience in a way that you just don't get at a big chain hotel, and we really appreciated it. You aren't going to find fancy luxury hotels in Estes Park, but this place is a winner! P.S. Masking and distancing were observed in all common areas.…
For our 39th anniversary we decided to take a quick trip to Estes Park, and chose the Appenzell Inn. We had a lovely room and it was very quiet and relaxing with comfortable beds and cozy blankets. It is close enough to downtown that walking is a great option as there is a sidewalk all along the highway to town. The breakfast in the morning is "covid safe" and in room coffee is from Wolfgang Puck! They offer movies and games to check out in the lobby, and each room has a DVD player. Hot tub and indoor pool is available and open. The staff is very friendly and accommodating-they supplied me with decaf coffee which I was very grateful for! A lovely, easy to find place with charm.
Absolutely loved the Appenzell for its charm, amenities and cleanliness. We were there Jan 2-5th 2021 and enjoyed our staying a great deal. The mountain views from our room were amazing! The staff were very attentive and very friendly; they answered all types of questions and were very helpful, they went way beyond there responsibilities. My family had a great stay in Grindle Suite - 1 Bedroom, the room was clean and roomy, the gas fireplace was a nice touch and the bed had the best king mattress ever! The lobby offered snacks, coffee, bagels and juice with a continental breakfast in the mornings. There are also games and movies you can check out. The location was great - away from the hustle of downtown but still close. Special thanks to Tim & Hanna! We will definitely be back.…
My wife and I spent NYE in Estes Park and we made a "last minute" reservation...well, if two weeks was considered last minute. We were lucky to get a room at this property! But, we were pleasantly surprised! I had initially booked the "cozy king" room with just a king size bed, fireplace, and jacuzzi. At check in, Mackenzie had upgraded us to quite the two-bedroom suite due to other customers needing to be next to each other or something like that. While it was great we got a suite more than double the size of what we needed at no extra cost, the jacuzzi tub in the suite was in the bathroom. I had hoped for that cozy king so we can enjoy the jacuzzi tub while watching the ball drop and have the fireplace going all at the same time. We also had fireplace issues. The pilot light was out and Mackenzie came to the room to get it going again not once but twice! First time she got it going while we were enjoying the nice hot tub. Second time we had to call her up just before her shift ended. The fireplace didn't even last 30 minutes. It probably needs cleaning or a part replacement. So that was a bummer. All in all this is a really nice property as far as rooms go! The suite we had was updated, very clean, nice kitchenette, and very spacious. The king size bed was a little on the firm side from what we're used to but still not too bad. The parking area is a little tight. It's clear they do not have nearly enough spaces available for the amount of rooms this property has. We had to park at their neighboring property and walk back. Little inconvenient. I do highly recommend this property for the variety of rooms and suites available, the really nice hot tub and pool area, the great customer service from the staff, and the ease of getting to the main areas of Estes Park.…
My wife and I stayed in room 42 -3 nights from Oct1- Oct4,2020. The room was good but unknowingly we were under a condo on the top floor- for 3 nights we had to deal with noise from kids running, jumping, etc it sounded like bowling balls were being dropped! We literally got about 4 hours sleep each night-I called the after hours number and McKenzie came out at 12:15 am and told the people above us to be quiet and they were upset- what about us! The hotel gives you a paper when you check in that says quiet time starts at 10 pm. Anyway, 5 more times in the next 2 days we complained about noise-(Dillon, Jill and some other guy)the hotel warned them each time, but the guests were still loud. Then those guests checked out and were replaced by new guests that were even louder! The hotel offered to refund some money but I booked through Expedia so they couldn’t refund anything. My advice is if you want to sleep, get a room on the top floor or do not stay in any room under the condo.…
