This was a great place to stay. We stayed two days on our way through Estes Park with 4 adults. We got the double queen suite with futon. We were comfortable. The room was larger than a hotel room but not enormous. Front desk was nice and helpful! They have fishing poles for guest use and some basic lures. Good for kiddos to do something, might even catch something in the stream out front. The door was a sliding glass door. Other reviews mention getting a 2nd floor room for privacy. There is tint on the glass doors which is great except during the night hours. You can easily see inside but not out. There are shades you can draw. The TV is small, 32”? Flat screen. We only watched at night so not a deal breaker. The bathroom was smaller than a regular hotel. Sink was also outside but also not a deal break. Just a basic amenity. If you want extravagant this isn’t for you. The room decoration was nice. The bed frames and futon was “raw” wood cabin style furnishing. There is a small window A/C which we did use even though it was in the 40’s. The rooms seem to hold heat well. I’d love to stay here again with my family. …
This has been one of our favorites for years. I'm not sure if they have changed vendors but the last time we were there the prime rib was very tough. And that was true for each of us that ordered it. We love sitting by the river outside during the summer but may not go back.
First night in Estes and we choose Nickys for dinner, driven by many times but never stopped. We arrived around 5:30 no one at front desk and several people standing waiting. Was minutes until some one came and I asked did we need to give name and waiter said they would be with us shortly. We were seated by the back of the restaurant by a window which I asked the waitress could she open. Enjoyed the sound of the street flowing by. I ordered the 10oz. Prime Rib it was good, not really overly warm. Hubby had New York strip it was ok. Salads were fresh. Would probably go back. Our waitress was very attentive
Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, while visiting RMNP. My husband and I were beyond pleased. It’s not the Ritz Carlton, but it’s Comfy, Clean, Cozy, Thick walls, Rustic and perfect for the Rockies environment! I would definitely stay here again, and was sad to leave! Seriously, so comfortable!!
Our family of four stayed in Cabin 1 and it was a comfortable stay. I would not recommend staying in this cabin if you have more than 4 people. The living room area with the futon is very small and it would be a stretch to fit 6 people in the cabin comfortably. The resort staff was very helpful and accommodating.
