Not even sure where to start here other than RUN... RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS VENUE! UGH! My fiancé and I booked this venue in December 2019 with our wedding being August 18, 2021. We have been planning and working so hard on this wedding- we are not only from out of state but our families are from Canada & the UK so this wedding was to be a major event. The venue goes through staff like toilet paper, we changed event coordinators about 4-5 times until we eventually ended up with Shannon F. Not only were our questions and concerns ignored for weeks-months on end, Shannon is the most rude and inconsiderate person any of us have ever dealt with- especially in the service industry. (Myself having working in resorts and my father in law having owned a world famous bar and music venue.) If Shannon's rude and disgusting treatment of us wasn't enough, the hotel reached out and told us they had to refund our entire wedding ($18,000+) and we had to repay them due to an issue with their payment company- which was fishy but we did it anyway to keep our rooms. They told us that they couldn't just transfer the money so we had to wait for checks to then send back to repay for everything. We did that with the wedding payment, but when we didn't receive a check for our hotel rooms, we inquired. They told us they just transferred it over and we wouldn't need to do anything further...definitely something sneaky going on in my opinion. In terms of services as a wedding venue- HORRIBLE. The Stanley will not provide clothing racks for the dresses, they have no room service but would not let us take out food from the restaurant for us to eat the morning of the wedding while getting ready, they over charge on drinks- $8 per mimosa that is all orange juice? NO WAY. Shannon even told me that the girls could use the boardroom to get ready in but we had to empty it on our way to the ceremony!!? The list goes on an on and on. Lastly, our wedding planner (on our behalf) sent an email to Shannon asking to discuss the issues and concerns we had with these trivial things that really shouldn't be an issue at a wedding venue (which we paid a TON of money for) and her response was a MATTER OF FACT email CANCELLING our wedding "to avoid anymore disappointments". No apology, no explanation, no answers to our questions... nothing. Basically a screw you, heres a refund, the wedding is cancelled email. My father in law requested a zoom meeting with her and the owners and nobody will respond. Not only have we now lost the venue, but since we are from out of state we have lost all of our vendors too. We now don't have time to reschedule everything and have had to move the wedding to 2022. Overall, we have lost THOUSANDS in vendor deposits, flights, hotels, customized wedding decor etc. and the Stanley doesn't care enough to answer an email. I can say that we will NEVER spend another cent at that venue and we certainly won't be having our wedding there next year. For a "world class" venue, it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had, and it's a shame because we were so excited to have our wedding there. All I can say is it is a bullet dodged and we can't wait for our event next year in a new venue that will treat us the way we deserve to be treated. At the end of the day, no bride and groom should feel how we did and be treated the way they (mostly Shannon) treated us- whether its a $2000 or $2 million wedding- it doesn't matter. All I can say is DON'T book your wedding here. -100 stars…
A definite NO! Do yourself a favor, DO NOT BOOK A WEDDING at this disorganized, incompetent, shoddy venue. Appalling communication, rude & nonchalant management & ownership that care about nothing other than screwing you for as many $$ as they can, and, in return cancel your (August 2021) wedding, with an unapologetic email, 6 months out and after over a year of planning and $24,000 in deposits because you dared to politely question their consistent screw ups & incompetence! Many attempts have been made to speak to them face to face, but, not surprisingly (since professional communication has been sadly lacking throughout this entire nightmarish process) they’re too arrogant and sickeningly cowardly to pick up the phone! Disgusting way to run a business! The Stanley should be ashamed of their pathetic, inadequate, disrespectful and low moral business standards! But, somehow, I’m pretty certain they just don’t care! Disgraceful!…
We did not stay at this hotel, or take a tour, we simply showed up and walked around the lobby and went downstairs to look at the displays. There is a beautiful view from in front of the hotel and great photo opportunities. The lobby is typical of older hotels, much more grand than what we are used to in modern places. On the lower level there are displays regarding movies filmed there and the history of the hotel and the Stanley family. It was a short, free stop that I enjoyed.
We stayed here for our anniversary and it was our first stay there and unfortunately it ended up being a complete disappointment. We got a room in the main building (The Stanley) and while we expected the room to be old fashioned but we didn't expect poor quality. Upon check-in they didn't have any bell man or women to take our suitcases and the old fashion elevator didn't work so we had to carry our own suitcases up stairs and that was a hassle. While making my reservation I notified them that it was our anniversary and they offered nothing to celebrate the special moment. We made a dinner reservation at Cascades Restaurant located on the property before taking the late hotel "ghost" tour and it was the most disorganized restaurant we've ever experienced. It was mass confusion and after waiting over an hour past our reservation time we didn't get to eat dinner before taking the tour so we had to order pizza after our tour that ended around 10:15pm. We did wait at the bar after waiting for our reservation that we kept getting told that a table would be available in the next 10 minutes but didn't happen so we ended up spending over $70 at the bar for 2 rounds of drinks so they made out pretty good on making guests wait for tables. Our room was not what you would expect of hotel where you spend $300 per night. The bed wasn't that comfortable and the bathroom was dirty and the bathroom sink and tub was horrible. The have old Delta faucets Plus they didn't have enough towels in the bathroom so I had to go to the front desk to get them. The bathtub had chip paint and rust by the drain. They didn't offer to bring them to us. That was the normal service we ended up receiving during our visit. Upon getting back home I took the time to write the Hotel General Manager Steven Moore and he did call me and said he would refund the charges that we made at the hotel and that ended up adding to my frustration. Nothing was refunded to my charge card so I had to call repeatedly and finally they credited my account partially and then I had to call 3 more times to get the rest refunded and they finally sent a check but didn't refund the bar charges that I thought Mr. Moore had said he would refund. He did tel me that they were going to start major renovations in the main building that would take over 6 months and I told him that was definitely needed. It was a disappointing visit but then the General Manager made it worst by not following through in refunding our visit as he said he would do without many phone messages by myself that weren't returned. Very unprofessional and I expected much more after speaking with him. He never returned the numerous phone calls so I had to call other different departments before finally receiving a check in the mail. If I were to visit Estes Park again I would recommend visiting the hotel since there is no charge anymore to park there and take the ghost tour but I wouldn't stay here especially at the rate we paid ($300 per night).…
As of right now, I've stayed in two rooms at the Stanley Hotel: Room 428 and Room 217, both of which are believed to be haunted. In both of them, I have found it magical. Each room in the Stanley has a bit of history behind it. There are multiple buildings there, and you will find that each of them has a certain charm. The view from the Stanley Hotel is magnificent. The view from the hotel is mesmerizing! I can say that the location of the Stanley Hotel is perfect because it is remote and secluded enough for you to feel at peace and not bothered, but still close enough to town for you to run out and get a bite to eat somewhere other than the hotel’s kitchen in case you want more variety. The food at the Stanley Hotel is very high quality. I recommend that you try the rib-eye steak. It is what I ordered there and I found it was very good. The bar is designed to look like that of the Overlook Hotel from Stephen King's The Shining. This is the hotel that inspired The Shining. Room 428 is a very beautiful room that has an amazing view on the corner of the hotel so you can see a very large amount of delay on and around it. It is on the fourth floor of which is also the highest floor of the hotel. room 428 has immediate access to the staircase of the hotel and you will find that it is very easy to get down. my haunted experiences in room 428 include hearing unusual sound coming above which is impossible as we are on the top of the hotel and there can be nothing above us the attic above where we were standing was too small to possibly sit any creature, then I and another person I was staying with repeatedly would see flashing balls of light in the corner of the room they would then disappear and my son believes that he saw a dark figure standing closet of the realm. Room 217 is widely known to be one of the most haunted rooms in history. The room is a suite in the hotel and contains a balcony that is not accessible as it is where many people would go and do some bad things. However, there is immediate access to gravel talked roof that you can simply access but a window in climbing out I do not recommend climbing out you are not permitted by the hotel staff but if you wish to do it you can. Again Room 217 is immediately accessible to the stairs. Room 217 is right outside of the staircase. My paranormal experiences from the real include Having Eight having someone tap me on the leg while I was sleeping I was lying there in the bed with my son next to me I felt an unexplained pressure put on my leg that was then dropped down immediately open my eyes and saw that no one was standing they are or could have done that as everyone was in bed. other haunting experiences on my second visit to the Stanley Hotel I and my son decided to go walk around the hallways and try and search for a ghost outside of Room 222 are EMF meter immediately spiked to 4 which is the second-highest level it can go to and there are no such Metals nearby that could put a strong enough output out also where it was next to Room 222 we tried that next to every other room in the hallway and found that the measurers did not go above 1 then we have also seen in a photo a face without any features looking out the window on the 4th-floor (the image you will see below). The decor of the hotel is amazing they do a great job of making you feel as if you're living in the 1920s as a good thing. nearly all lights in the hotel (excluding the rooms) how a gas like feel to them despite being Electric. The hallways look very similar to the ones found in the Overlook Hotel from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Complaints about the hotel would include rooms for 428 bathrooms as the bathroom was quite dirty but was still semi-clean in the most important areas. This is the only complaint that I have about the hotel otherwise everywhere is quite clean and not dirty. to conclude the Stanley Hotel is a perfect getaway if you are wishing to get some space from life. then I have no choice but to conclude that the hotel is indeed haunted plus it contains great history that you are guaranteed to find amazing. I rate this hotel five stars and recommends that you stay in any of the rooms but personally I would recommend a haunted room.…
