The hotel has recently been rennovated and looks much nicer than it had. The staff is friendly and fairly helpful. However, the devil is in the details. Upon checking in we were told that there were no rooms available higher than the 4th floor, yet...More

My husband and I, along with our two children, stayed at the Renaissance Providence hotel a couple of weeks ago. Our service was outstanding from the valet attendants to the front desk. Special thanks to Chris who was able to fulfill our request for another...More
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and staff is really friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and views of the capital (or was it the state house? I'm embarrassed!) are on point. I loved waking up to see the view from my window
Cons: two strange...More
This was our first visit to Providence so we chose the hotel based on reading reviews wanting to be close to all the attractions. We were really happy with our choice - as others have mentioned the hotel is directly opposite the State Capitol building,...More
We enjoyed our two night stay at the gracious Renaissance in downtown Providence. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The building itself is an old Masonic Temple with a columned exterior and a very nicely renovated contemporary interior. The lobby, the rooms and the hallways...More

Dinner in Providence is first-rate. There are plenty of great restaurants, especially in the Federal Hill area. Since the area is home to Johnson & Wales University, where there's one of the country's best Culinary and Hospitality programs, you'll find young students and recent grads who are working their best to further their careers. As a result, you find amazing food at the local restaurants (even the chains), and great service at the area hotels. The Renaissance always has young people working there, and they're always friendly, helpful, and professional.
The bottom line is, you can't go wrong eating anywhere in Providence.

Hello and thank you for your question. You can valet park at the hotel for $30 with full in and out privileges. The closest garage is at the Providence Place Mall. This garage is 1/6 mile away and is $25 for 24 hours.
