Odd situation. Folks staying the night here come for the historic and eclectic vibe of this amazingly preserved place, but the weekend scene is packed full of loud music and college students. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun lively place, but if you're looking for a quiet retreat, this is not it, especially with Friday-Saturday parking lot restrictions for...

The hotel is located in the centre of town and close to the station. You cant really get away from the noise since many trains are passing and sounding their horns. On the other side of the hotel you have the trams and traffic of the main road. Competing with these noises is the live music on the ground floor,...

Having a lot of fun in Down Town Tucson it was only a matter of time we got thirsty. Drop into the Tap Room for some cold refreshments. Hang out at the cool bar or go to the patio, its all good. Try the Margaritas made from scratch...WOW

Took a friend here for his 60th birthday. Out of dumb luck it happened to be the Tucson "All Soul's Day" party. (All Souls day is typically the day after Halloween, but for some reason it was the Sunday after - Halloween was on a Monday). Anyway, we started to get the sense something was going on when we saw...

This place is fun, lots of history and possibly haunted. The rooms are on the small side and the volume is pumped up here. Don;t expect to relax and chill, the music is turned up and if you are lucky, you'll catch a concert in the bar. The Cup is a great place to have breakfast, excellent bloody marys too!

This was a very cool hotel. Not only has a lot of the décor from John Dillinger's era remained (or been restored) but where else do you see an old 1900s hotel with a Creature from the Black Lagoon billboard towering over it? The room was small and comfortable, with a good ceiling fan, AC, AM/FM radio and adequate bathroom....

The place was historic. So its old and funky. I loved it. The bartenders in the Taproom were great. Very attentive and interactive. They had live music which was also good. Outdoor patio was nice also. Its close to a quite a few bars and restaurants (walking). The room very comfortable. The bed surprised me. I didn't expect much but...

No matter how hot or cool it is, the patio is always a good place to sit, whether it is just for a drink, which you can get yourself at the bar that is just inside from the patio, or have it brought to you. Nice atmosphere, across the street from Maynard's Kitchen (which belongs to the same owners), and...

We knew, based on many reviews and disclaimers on the website, that this would be a very noisy hotel. They state very clearly: "We are an urban, historic hotel. Your room may be affected by plaza, nightclub, or street noise. We do not give discounts or refunds due to noise. Earplugs are available at the front desk. Or, better yet,...

Thank you very much for the feedback. Your right we DO have total control of the construction. My deepest apologies for the miscommunication that caused the noise outside of your room. Maybe we can see you again for brunch or a show in the future.

This great hotel was built in 1919. In 1934 a fire destroyed the third floor. At this time John Dillinger and his gang were seen fleeing the building. After the fire, the lobby was renovated in a very cool southwest Indian theme. There is also a very good restaurant and tap room. It is located directly across from the Amtrak...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it’s intentional – we strive to maintain the Hotel’s original ambiance – from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. ... more   less
