This hotel is a landmark and has stood the test of time. It's hard to imagine San Antonio without the Menger!! The hotel exudes old style charm and you can imagine the heady days of Teddy Roosevelt at the bar drinking his favorite libation! The restaurant is another major plus with some excellent food and service! The location is stellar...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 26 January 2017

My wife and I stayed at the Menger Hotel earlier this week for a few days. It was wonderful! Great historic hotel, beautiful decor, and wonderful people. We ate in the Colonial Restaurant, in the hotel on two days for breakfast and one day for dinner. All was wonderful. Our dinner was the best, as we had a wonderful woman...

You cannot beat the location of the Menger Hotel. A few steps away from The Alamo and one block to the Riverwalk. Full of history and great stories. But, it could use some caring. Rooms, bathrooms, elevators, everything is dated and terribly tired. Clean but way too old. We have stayed in way better hotels in San Antonio, for the...

The Menger is located across the street from The Alamo and The Riverwalk. Location couldn't be better. The only negative was the $28 valet parking fee for the car. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

I cannot even stand to walk through the lobby of this place, it smells so terrible. Like urine. Like they let homeless people sleep here at night and pee on the floor. Or they have like a hundred cats they let pee on the rugs. I do not understand how no one does something about it, it's so bad. Could...

The staff is so knowledgeable about local attractions and the restaurant suggestions they gave us were excellent. The hotel itself is quaint, clean and parts of it are beautifully restored. The room was comfortable, if small, but I was alone, so it was the right size for me. The breakfast buffet is excellent, if a little overpriced, but the food...

I have stayed at the Menger Hotel more than a half dozen times, and every time I do, I have had an enjoyable visit. I love the history behind the hotel and the location can't be beat. The people who work there are awesome and they love to go out of the way to make things first rate.

Breakfast & Lunch menu was excellent. Enjoyed my meals. Rooms were quite small which is related to historic nature. Really enjoyed my stay even though it was for work. Servers in Colonial Room were attentive and provided excellent service.

The Menger Hotel is full of beauty and preserved history. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in San Antonio. (One potential ghostly experience.) If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try the Chocotini in their bar. This is my new favorite!

What a hidden gem! My husband and I spent a long weekend in San Antonio and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The hotel is supposed to be haunted, but we never had any encounters. The bar is unbelievable, even if you don't stay at the Menger, you must stop in for a drink. We loved all of the history,...
