I was looking forward to staying at the historic Noel. I had heard of it beautiful decor and location right on the Riverwalk. I was totally disappointed in my stay. Upon my arrival I was greeted by two young ladies that had sour disposition. I was assigned a room that had hair in the bathtub, with a tub that would...

We just spent four days in San Antonio at the beautiful old Menger Hotel. We stayed in the Oscar Wilde suite which is really lovely. The hotel is very conveniently located. It is just across the side street from the Alamo and is within easy walking distance of the river walk and it's many restaurants. Our hotel was perfect and...

Centrally located in the Alamo Plaza area. Old hotel that has done a nice job with renovations. Very friendly and responsive staff. Parking is $28/nt so we parked for $10/day by the convention center and walked about 5 minutes. Shower tub was clogged - they came to fix it. Server at Pool was kind of clueless - no drink menu,...

I was in town for two days while attending the state democratic convention. The hotel was lovely and historic. The room was pretty average, but had a wonderful view of downtown San Antonio. It's near the Riverwalk and only steps away from the Alamo. Location was wonderful as was the service! I recommend eating lunch and dinner there at the...

Nice authentic historic hotel immediately adjacent to the Alamo. Rustic feel ....rooms feel authentic. Air Conditioning adequate but could cool a little better. Ceiling fans in the rooms helped. Would recommend to any lover of History.

I was in town for a seminar. I have stayed at the Menger before and always had a great experience. Historical with modern convenience. The staff was great and helped every time I asked. The only complaint I had was that the shower head came out of the wall about chest high. They made up for it with their mango...

The room at The Mengar was spacious and comfortable altho the bathroom was on the small size but adequate. Hope to return to The Mengar Hotel the next time...

I Checked in Thursday night and left Saturday afternoon. This was a perfect choice for my stay to relax and unwind between work stuff. Every single person was pleasant and seemed happy at their job. The pool is great, so great. The room was a little on the "okay" side, but I wasn't hanging out in my room. It had...

We stay here when there's availability. We had 2 problems - first since my partner's brother was also staying here, they mixed up and screwed up the two reservations and tried to charge us for a night we had canceled. And the water was not hot. Just luke warm. We still like it - the location and ambulance.

You can't beat this one for history. Ghosts, our room looked out on the Alamo, architecture, memorabilia, and comfortable beds! Newly renovated or original wing (make sure you specify-pick the renovated in the summer with new cold air!) you will love it. The furnishings are worth a stroll to see. Negatives are its San Antonio, so parking is horrible and...
