The property/grounds, as well as the cabins, are amazing! It was a great place to shack up for a long weekend. One of two improvements I would suggest for Snug Harbor would be to have a mini-grocery/convenience store on sight. With Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor being 20+ minutes away it was a drag having to get back in the...

We have tried to stock more grocery type items in the past and have found it was very difficult to have what guests wanted. We struggle with our limited space to be able to stock a balanced minimum. We also had a significant problem with spoilage due to the limited demand. We try to do our best to have something...

We stayed at 'the snug' because it was ON San Juan Island, the larger of the islands...but it was "far away" from the main hub on the island - Friday Harbor. Best of both worlds, we hoped. We were right. The facility is immaculate and perfectly suited for a couple to get away, together. We spent hours reading, without distraction,...

We are glad you enjoyed your get away so much. We feel we offer a great option for accommodations that are unmatched by anyone else on San Juan Island. We look forward to your return.

We LOVE this place. Whether for our parents 50th wedding anniversary (20+ of us there) or with just our girls on our boat this place is the best. Amazing wildlife, crabbing off the dock - though its better just at the mouth of the sound, Orca whales, eagles, seals herons, and much much more. 15 min boat ride to Roache...

It sounds like you've been coming to Snug Harbor for as long as I have. We so glad you enjoy the changes we've made. We also had a large family group there to test out our new event facility. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.

My wife and I spend a wonderful four days at Snug Harbor just prior to the July 4, 2016 holiday weekend. We arrived on Sunday and departed Thursday. After a wonderful one-hour ferry trip from Antecortes, arriving into Friday Harbor at around 1PM, we did some shopping and grabbed some lunch at Friday’s Crab House. While advertised check-in time was...

Wow, you get the award for the most detailed review of the summer. Thank you for taking the time to share so many fine points with other potential guests. We are pleased that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay. We do offer a fully handicap approved cabin on the main level of the resort for anyone with that...

Staying at this resort was the highlight of a really memorable trip. We were heading to Whidbey Island to meet family afterward, which was wonderful, and then to a waterfront view Airbnb in Seattle. However nothing matched the peaceful sleep and connection with nature I felt at Snug Harbor. I woke up at 6am every day to take in the...

We rented lakefront cabin 9. The cabin is wonderfully updated, clean, and modern. Nice to have conveniences of kitchen, with coffee supplied! The view was beautiful of the lake. The location of this resort is on the opposite side of the island from Friday Harbor, so quiet and rural. Our only issue was that our small kids were quite bored,...

Thank you for the review and we do usually try to get groups booked together with cabins near each other. Since we are so small groups do stick out more and have the effect you described. I'm sorry your children were bored. Usually the bay and beach area are quite clean, washed by the daily tidal exchange. I can recommend...

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin for two nights, we were sad to leave. The cabins were immaculate, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We sat out at the fire pits two nights with other guests; really friendly atmosphere and enjoyable.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and it was very nice. Views from all the cabins and grounds are well kept. Unit very clean and supplied with basics: coffee pot and toaster but no blender. Basic dishes and utensils and BBQ very clean. Windows clean. Compact bedrooms with comfy beds. Coffee shop and lobby areas all clean as well....

Thank you for the recommendation of adding a blender to our kitchen items. We will consider that as we review how to improve our offerings moving forward.

The resort was well located for our event that was at Roche Harbor. It is on a lovely small bay with nice beach walking, boats to look at, etc. The room was very nice and roomy with comfortable bed and furniture. We did not cook.

Great place to stay! Every cabin has a great view. They offer free kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards. Our group went out one morning and saw multiple harbor seals swimming within feet of our canoes.

Thank you for the review. We love the wildlife around the bay and sometimes we have guests see deer and foxes walking right through the resort.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
All of our 17 cabins and three suites are spacious with beautiful interiors, expansive glass, vaulted ceilings, full kitchens, and uninterrupted, stunning views. Snug Harbor's incredible setting is unparalleled on San Juan Island. Arriving by boat is always an option, since we have our own private marina. We are perfectly located for adventures throughout the islands. Once you arrive and explore the resort, you will discover the unique features, comforts, and amenities provided to each of our guests. We strive to make each guest's visit amazing and memorable. We offer four paddle boards, two kayaks, canoes and bikes for the complimentary use by our guests. Our own Mitchell Bay Coffee is open daily offering an array of coffee beverages, local pastries, waffles, soups, and more. And if you are looking for somewhere to host an event, our new events room with seating for up to 50 is now available. When you come to Snug Harbor be ready to detach a little. This is an ideal place to unwind and relax (while we have free wi-fi throughout the property and great cell phone reception, there are no phones in the cabins). Allow the peace and serenity on Mitchell Bay overtake you. We believe our guests have said it best. One recent Trip Advisor review stated "This place is truly paradise" and our favorite Facebook post simply stated "The cabins are epic". ... more   less
