We rented two rooms and both had difficult experiences. The check-in was good, nice customer service. The room is very minimal, which was acceptable under the circumstances. One room had broken A/C and the other room had broken hot water heater, which meant no hot showers in that room. The sounds of everything all other building occupants did and said...

Location-wise, Orca inn is in a very quiet place. Though the inn is very close to the local airport, I did not hear even a little noise because of it through the night. The rooms are very neat and compact. The hotel can define compact with the size of the bathrooms. There is literally no moving place outside of the...

I would have preferred to camp, but we weren't sure what options are. It's weird and tiny but walking distance to town (about 15min). Good in a pinch but I would not have wanted to spend more than a night there. If you can find something for a little more $ it's definitely worth it, but I'm not sure there's...

Most other reviews have said this, but I'll summarize: - Low price: $100 less than every other room on the island that we could find - Small rooms: you breathe in, she breathes out (not quite). Fridge, microwave, desk, chair organized to minimize space. - Friendly owner and staff: assisted with getting ferry scheduled correctly so we weren't stuck on...

My mom and I were struggling to find an affordable place to stay on Anacortes before we looked into the Orca Inn. We were impressed with the customer service both over the phone and in person. This is a local establishment so when we asked for recommendations on places to eat, we were shown where to go to avoid the...

As they advertise, the Orca Inn provides you with a small room with a small bathroom that provides all that you need, as long as you're not looking for anything fancy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and it was the best value by far for an accommodation in Friday Harbor. There is no breakfast...

This is a basic motel but thats all they purport to be. When visiting San Juan Island the attraction isn't the motel, it's all the scenery outside. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I was concerned at first when the map shows it to be very close to the regional airport but my room faced...

If you want to save money while you explore this island, then The Orca Inn is the place. It is tiny but it does have what you need. Clean sheets and towels. queen size bed, tv, fridge. Just make sure that if you are traveling with someone that you can communicate well bc negotiating the space can be tricky.

My fiancé and I were traveling to the San Juan Islands and decided to go whale watching. We were so carried away that we forgot to make reservations anywhere to sleep. To make a long story short we ended up at the orca inn at a very late hour. Not only were they accommodating but they had cookies waiting for...

This hotel is perfect for somewhere to lay your head and shower. It's very affordable and clean. I was pleased with the price and felt comfortable and safe. Front desk staff is very friendly and full of information. I would highly recommended this place if you're visiting the island and on a budget.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spend a night...Not a fortune! It's really simple: Smaller Rooms = Smaller Rates. At The Orca Inn, we are proud to offer the smallest rooms in the state of Washington! Which means we have the lowest hotel room rates on San Juan Island. (Of course, for just a few dollars more, we have larger King and Double Queen rooms). With the money you save, you can spend more on amazing whale watching tours, incredible kayak trips, and other island adventures that you will remember for a lifetime. As Mr. Carson once said, "The business of life is the acquisition of memories." And at the Orca Inn, business is good! ... more   less
