HEALTH HAZARD!! FALSE ADVERTISING!! BE WARNED!! We had the misfortune of staying at the Best Western in Three Rivers, CA on 12/ 29/23 Just outside Sequoia National Park. There is a Comfort Inn a 1/2 mile down the road. STAY THERE. We checked in around 9:30 pm ( time is important because water on floor from cleaner should be dry by then) We were given room 19 . Noticed immediately that there was standing water around the toilet. Called front desk, they asked if we could wait for someone in 15 min. NO! A leaking toilet is not going to be fixed at 9:30at night! I don't want to wade thru motel toilet water!!! We requested a new room. We were given room 62 - a handicapped room as far away from the lobby as possible. Again, important to note. Immediately we noticed standing water sat the end of one of the beds. WTH! No ceiling leak, but a mystery. Being exhausted from the day, we decided to put an early old towel on it and avoid it. At least it wasn't toilet water! It did not appear to be mop water because the floor was still dirty, crud along walls especially in the bathroom. Next problem - NO TOILET PAPER or KLEENEX AT ALL. Imagine being a physically handicapped person, using the toilet and finding out that there is no toilet paper in the room at all. Only thing in the closet was an old walker and two old pillows WITHOUT PILLOWCASES. No blankets, no extra sheets, no nothing!! There was only two old stained towels in the room ( sleeps four people) that were thrown up on the shelf. Yes, thrown up. No tidy effort at all. My daughter had to walk across a dark parking lot at 10pm to get ONE ROLL OF TP. They didn't even offer to stock the room or offer Kleenex. So around 10:30pm we proceeded to open the beds. NO TOP SHEETS!! Gross! Only fitted sheets! Imagine trying to sleep against old blankets that possibly hundreds or thousands of people have slept against. This is the type of motel that probably doesn't wash the blankets, by the looks of the towels. (towels were old , worn, stained and HAD HAIR ON THEM!!!) This time I called the front desk and asked them to deliver top sheets to our room. About 10 minutes later, the mom and her son showed up. ( this is family business, mom and daughter wore the same religious garb and the son looked like the mom) I showed the mom the lack of sheets and the water on the floor. No apologies, no excuses. She did bring two extra nasty towels to make a total of 4 towels for a room that slept four. After they left I pulled out the beds to check for bedbugs. This definitely the type of motel that would have bedbugs. Amazing! no bedbugs but GREEN MOLD ON FLOOR AT HEAD OF BOTH BEDS. HEALTH HAZARD!! it was quite obvious that the beds had never been pulled out for cleaning. I wish I had taken a picture but I was too tired. But the "fun' didn't end there. The heater only had two settings - 85 degrees or off. Even though the temperature number appeared to change, IT DID NOT WORK. My husband had to open the sliding glass door at 2am to release the inferno. We turned the blast furnace back on at 7 am when we were trying to escape the hellhole. But wait! There's more! We opened the room fridge only to find a brown liquid on the door and on the floor of the fridge. The fridges are never cleaned. Again, there's more! The tv must use old antenna. No cable or satellite. Remember the old fuzzy lines and static? Old folks would remember this as classic antenna reception. this is an old motel - think 1970's Which brings up an important point, because this is such an old motel, there are NO USB PLUGS. You need to bring your own cubes to charge your devices. FALSE ADVERTISING! This motel advertises CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. OH HELL NO! That was the first thing the daughter said when we tried to check in early. No breakfast, just oatmeal and some old, dehydrated oranges. No coffee in lobby, no place to sit down in the tiny lobby. Old fashioned drip coffee makers in room, but no creamers. Daughter did recommend a place down the road that served breakfast. Close to the Comfort Inn that you should stay at inside of this health hazard place that calls itself a Best Western. This motel should be reported for health violations and for false advertising. Due to its age, it should be brought up to code and turned into housing for the homeless. Best use for it. AGAIN. DO NOT STAY HERE. STAY AWAY. THERE IS A COMFORT INN less than a mile toward the park.

This is a basic motel, but to be fair the price reflects this. The room was dirty (hair in the bath etc). The window was cracked. The pool was closed. The coffee was weak, the electrics were flakey, the garden was trashy. But if all you need is a comfortable bed for the night before or after a visit to the national park, then I would say it's adequate and good value.

The room was filled with insects, some of which either the maids let in, or there were entry points into the room, because there was a jerusalem cricket in my room the second night that wasn't there the first. (And look - I studied entomology in college - I don't generally mind bugs, but there were so many flies and mosquitos and beetles and two full on spiderwebs in the room.) The first night I was bitten by a spider (found it in the bed the second day) and my arm swelled up so much from shoulder to elbow I nearly needed to go to urgent care (11 days later, you can still see the bites and my arm is still somewhat discolored.) The second night, there was also a large, very bold mouse in my room that I had to throw washcloths at for an hour to get it to go away.

The rooms are dirty and worn out. The breakfast is almost non-existing. We had booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. When we arrived the temperature was 110 degrees, but the AC wasn't working in one of the rooms. They could not fix the AC or provide another room so we had to squeeze in to the other rooms that we booked. Even though we could not use the room, they refused to refund us. I have filed a police report for fraud and reported the hotel to the bank.

My first impression of this place was the lobby. Cluttered. It looked like random things had been just dropped wherever and left. The grounds where of a like kind. A step ladder here, an extension cord there. In front of my room, a trash barrel spilling over. The room itself was clean enough, but the security latch was broken off. There was a deadbolt thing that was added on, kind of do it yourself job. No cover on bathroom ceiling light, just a bare light bulb. Now to be fair, there were a number of workmen on the property doing. And it is post season, but they are still open and appearances matter.

The location was great with easy access to Sequoia NP. Parking is easy and plentiful. The room was clean but definitely dated. The AC had a hard time keeping up during the day. Thankfully the nights were cool so sleeping wasn't an issue. The bathroom is also dated but you get what you pay for.

There was a BIG squished spider on the wall by the old noisy air conditioner, hair in the shower, dirty and worn out furnishings. The sliding door to the balcony was installed backwards so you couldn't grasp the handle to open it. We had booked for two nights but only stayed one due to the condition and were told they would refund us the second night but are still waiting on the refund. Very sketchy.

I'd give this place a ZERO if I could! WARNING TO TRAVELERS!!! Terrible check in experience! First gave us a room that had not been turned over and cleaned. Then gave us a room that was already occupied. Finally got a room, slightly more passable than a hostel room, and multiple things were wrong with it. Fridge was barely cool, even though it was turned all the way up to the MAX setting. There was only one set of towels for the bathroom sink (1 washcloth and 1 hand towel), and only two bath towels and a bath mat in the shower. Quality of the towels are better in a jail than here! They advertise breakfast, but do not provide it. The toilet was stuck and the tank empty upon our arrival (I had to unstick the float to get it to work again, and this happened multiple times during the two nights we stayed). The air conditioner was turned off and unplugged when we arrived. It was stuffy and hot and took two plus hours to cool the room to approx. 80 degrees. The TV reception was horrible! Very few channels to choose from ( no Channel guide printed and in the room). One of the bedside lamps was out. The water faucet handles in the room were wrong. C on the hot side, and H on the cold side. The swimming pool water was a light shade of green from algae growth. On day two, our room key had to be reprogrammed after we returned from Sequoia.

This hotel is conveniently located near the Sequoia National Park. Very good parking and spacious, clean rooms. My room had a double queen bed, tv, coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer and iron with irs table. Not that many channels available on tv. Check-in process was fast but not memorable. Nice outdoor pool area

When we arrived, the gal at check in sounded confused and could not find our reservation. When she finally did she only charged for the first of two rooms. When we asked about the second room she again was confused. She then charged for the second room. The rooms were filthy dirty. The bathroom was so small you had to stand on the toilet or step into the tub to close the door. The floors were filled with black dirt and lots of bugs. We asked for housekeeping to come and clean the floors. We came back into the rooms and they were just as dirty. Mold was growing around the bathroom window. The rooms had an odor to them. At a later date we found out that they charge extra if you use a credit card to pay. Considering we had two rooms for three nights it was over $1000. Dollars. I called Hotels.com who we booked the rooms through and they told us we OKed to be charged extra of which we were never told. The lady at the desk called it “unusual incidentals” of which we used none. My advice…GO TO THE COMFORT INN up the street. This place was the worst and most expensive of our 3000 mile 23 day trip!
