Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views Campground, formerly Spacious Skies Shenandoah Valley, is a serene slice of heaven, conveniently located just 20 minutes off I-81, yet still peacefully rural nestled within farmland atop a hill in Luray, Virginia.
Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains with views all around, our campground is close to the Luray Caverns, the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, the Shenandoah River, and several Civil War sites.
We offer both shady sites and open sites that can accommodate all sized RVs and trailers-we are big rig friendly! Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. We have deluxe patio sites and deluxe tent sites too!
Our campground is in the heart of all that Virginia's Shenandoah Valley has to offer.

Our sites were clean, slightly sloped, gravel drive and spacious. The back of our sites over looked beautiful farm land and mountain views. We enjoyed watching the herds of deer every evening crossing the farm land. The sunsets were amazing. The laundry room/ restrooms were super clean. The driers actually dried the clothes in one cycle! The washing machines and driers take debit/credit cards which was great. Staff was super nice. The store does not carry much but there is a little country store not far up the road.

The campground is great! They have a great staff & campsites. If I’m ever heading that way again I would consider staying there. There is a lot to do near by, Luray Caverns is a nice place & they have other areas to visit at the Caverns.

This campground is extremely over priced. It is surrounded by farms, normally not a problem but fertilizer was being spread on the adjacent farm land and the smell was BAD! Flies were bad as well. $100.00 per night to park on gravel was outrageous. No wonder they were the only campground with availability. It’s a 50.00 a night campground, not 100.00. The area did feel very safe.

We absolutely loved our stay at this campground! We did not pay the lock fee at the time of booking and were assigned to site 19 when we arrived. Our rig is 40 feet, and it was a tight fit in the site, especially taking into account our bike trailer on the back, but we made it work and enjoyed the space once we were set up. I would book a site rated for a 42 foot rig next time to make sure we have enough space lengthwise. The rolling hills on the property and being surrounded by farm and mountain views in three directions made for a very scenic and relaxed setting. We enjoyed the playground, pool and jumping pillow with out two-year old. The pergolas and paved firepit patio on the hill make the setup unique. The facilities were clean, and the campsite was quiet in the mornings and evenings. We loved the proximity to the Luray Caverns and the Luray-Hawksbill Greenway. Beautiful location that was close to national park, our site was clean and spacious with wonderful views of surrounding farms. The staff was courteous and helpful and the bathroom and shower was especially sanitary. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

This is our second trip to the campgrounds. We love the tranquility and literally the spacious skies the campground provides. Green grass and tall trees, such a nice change from a typically new campground. This has nice campsites with the usual fire pit, concrete patio and nice pull through or back in sites. Some have pergolas that look out by a sheep farm with llama's to guard them. The camp store is fully stocked and very friendly staff. For the kiddo's, they have a game room, volleyball court, playground and a jumping pillow that everyone seems to enjoy. We will return again for sure !

We spent a wonderful long weekend at Spacious Skies Shenandoah Valley to celebrate a wedding anniversary and visit with family. The campground is nicely laid out, sites are spaced well apart and very clean and well maintained. We had a site with a pergola at the edge of the campground, the site had a concrete pad with a picnic table and chairs; the pergola had two new Adirondack chairs and the fire pit was clean and well constructed. There is a small camp store with basics and apparently plans to provide more items in the future. The campground staff were all helpful and friendly. There are wonderful views in all directions and the campground is convenient to Luray Caverns and the Skyline Drive entrance. It was Halloween weekend and the staff had arranged many activities for campers. Despite the activities and full campground, it was a quiet and peaceful weekend. Toward the end of the weekend an RV’er traveling nearby had an emergency and needed a campsite and assistance. The staff made an extra effort to get him situated in a vacant site and to see that he was able to get the assistance he needed. A great example of over the top customer service. The campground was recently acquired by Spacious Skies and the local managers, Kristine and Dan, along with an excellent staff, have made it a very pleasant place.…

This campground renewed my interest in camping. I had given up due to cramped campsites and rowdy people making noise all night. Not here!! This campground has GREAT rules and it was peaceful and the sites were large with beautiful views of the mountains. Lots of room to run around, a nice playground, two pools (which were not open as this was September), and a great camp store. There are plans to open a cafe with ice cream in the summer. We stayed in a cabin and we had a deck and a nice fire pit with adirondack chairs. We brought sheets but no blankets and had to borrow two blankets which were brought to our cabin by the camp staff! Kitchen had a keurig which was wonderful. I would say that this campground is ideal for older people and families with young children. I really liked this place a lot and hope to return soon.…

Campground is convenient to Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, and a couple of relaxing wineries. Friendly, welcoming staff. Variety of pull-through and back-in sites with concrete patios, table and chairs, fire pits, and Adirondack chairs to sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. The pergola, pull-through sites along the campground's western edge offer nice views of the mountain sunsets. Have been here probably 1/2 dozen times, first when it was a KOA and now under Spacious Skies ownership. Will definitely return.

It sounds like hyperbole but this is the best campground we've ever used. It is the benchmark against which we assess all campgrounds. We were here in 2016 when it was a KOA and are so happy to be back. The sites are spacious...every one...from tent sites to sites for a 45' Class A. The pad, parking and utilities are all trimmed out gravel...NO MUD!! Apparently they are getting even more maintenance help to keep the sites neat and patios weeded...of which there are two at each site with furniture on each site...one concrete and one pavers with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs. It has a jumping pillow and playground for kids, a pool and quiet, beautiful farmland on all sides and a big, grassy green in the center...a beautiful place to walk your dog. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And there are 3 spectacular museums that will hold the attention of adults and children alike (see pics). If you have a problem with this campground you just shouldn't be camping.…
