So this small cottage is prefect for those who want a bed and breakfast experiences without being in a house full of other guests and thin walls. The cottage literally has everything you could possibly need from a hairdryer and extra towels to WiFi and a picnic basket. Betsy and Ed are extremely accommodating. I complimented the vegetable garden next to the cottage and the next morning Ed sent us off with fresh homegrown cucumbers. They were around t answer any questions or help in any way they could but otherwise they left us to our own devices. They leave breakfast in the fridge the night before so you don't have to worry about waking up in time for food. The fully furnished kitchen allows to you prepare your own food or reheat the food they leave for you. Its in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley so its the perfect place to stay if you want to hike in the Shenandoah National Park or check out Luray Caverns. The farm is right outside your window and the main house is right outside the front door if you need Betsy and Ed at anytime. The whole property is open to you but all you need is in the cabin, The pictures are very accurate and the cottage is absolutely adorable. Overall a great value and the perfect couples getaway.

My boyfriend and I came down to Luray for the triathlon, which was a 5 minute drive from the cottage! What a cute and comfortable stay we had here. Rhe cottage itself is quaint which brrathtaking views. Its the only guest house on the property and it is separate from the main house so there is plenty of privacy!!! The hosts, Betsy and Ed, we're very kind, friendly and accommodating. Betsy brings down breakfast the night before which is nice because we can make it on our own schedule. Plus the ingredients come right from the farm. Love that! For our other meals we either went to town or had food delivered here. Everything you need is close by (walmart, red box etc).

Bottom line, we will come here again!

This is a lovely property, and the space is cleverly laid out so you have everything you need. We thought the breakfasts were wonderful, and it was nice to have them any time we want. The hosts were very nice, and we enjoyed the area - hiked each day in Shenandoah National Park (about 10 miles away from the entrance), and had multiple options for dinner in Luray. Just drive up and down Main Street, and you will find good places. The Cottage is a great place.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review The Cottage at Ravens Roost Farm. It is so helpful to me the Innkeeper to know what people think so that I know if there is something else I need to do to make my guests comfortable. It is also nice for new potential guests to see how folks felt about their stay. Have a great Spring!

We had an amazing weekend at The Cottage. The cottage is amazing and perfect for a couple looking to get some rest and relaxation. The views were spectacular. If you love the outdoors, this is an ideal location for exploring near by hiking trails. The town of Luray is also super quaint and neat. Can't speak highly enough about our experience.

The Cottage at Raven's Roost offers a unique approach to the B&B experience. Located on a farm with exceptional views in every direction, it is a extremely well appointed studio cottage. Betsy and Ed are warm and inviting. The Farm has a civil war history and is an interesting spot to hang out. Ed offered us "free range" to look about the place. It currently is home to friendly dogs, cats, roosters, chickens and horses. We came to see Luray Cavern's but I left feeling that the cottage and Raven's Roost were indeed a destination of its own!
I say that Betsy's breakfasts were incredible. She brings you food to stock your fridge and our breakfasts were so bountiful that we didn't eat lunch either day. In fact I ended up taking some of her homemade bread into work the following Monday. She provides both a hot meal that you can heat up in the oven, fresh fruits, and her homemade breads. I popped a dish in the oven and went out to enjoy the farm to return to a delicious homemade meal. Russ chose to remain in the luxurious king sized bed.
Sunday morning I fed the horses some carrots and apples. They were instantly my pals and proceeded to follow me about the farm behind their fence but ever present. This was an exceptional weekend getaway!
Thanks for everything Betsy and Ed we hope to see you again in the spring

My hubby and I stayed two nights at Raven's Roost and were delighted with the accommodations and the location. The bed was comfortable and the bedding luxurious. Since we are animal lovers, a huge plus was the resident cats, Raven, Annabelle Lee, and Happy. And we must not forget the three dogs, especially Cricket. We spent our downtime petting them and playing in the yard. We were on a rather tight schedule and didn't have a chance to try the hot tub. The location was very convenient to Luray Caverns and the Shenandoah National Park. Ed and Betsy were very welcoming and we enjoyed talking to them. Hope to visit again in the future.

We found a very private bed & breakfast cottage in Luray, VA to celebrate our anniversary. We discovered amazing views, a beautiful farm with amazing farm animals plus innkeepers that went out of their way to provide a magical experience.
If you love privacy, optional views/interactions with farm animals, and great customer service, you need to come here.
This cottage is very nice, fully equipped kitchen, king size bed and nice bathroom. When you eat your meals you can view the mountains and pasture land with cows and horses. You can also enjoy a fire pit and hot tub and pick fresh herbs from the garden.

Beautiful cozy cottage that had plenty of room to spread out for our anniversary vacation to Shenandoah National Park for some hiking & driving along Skyline. So peaceful, I slept in every day for the first time in years. We just loved the way breakfast is set up. I seriously don't know why more owners are not doing breakfast this way. We woke up on our time frame, had a wonderful breakfast each morning looking out over the meadows, mountains, and the farm. I was so glad I found this place. Don't know why anyone would want to stay anywhere else. And we were so thankful, they allowed our dog to stay with us. Cottage was clean (which is important to us not only as renters for ourselves, but also as dog owners) & beautifully decorated. You could definitely be comfortable staying in for an entire day & just relaxing here. Thank you for the hospitality & conversation Betsy & Ed, we were blessed to stay here & meet you.

The cottage is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and unwind. It's secluded setting makes you feel relaxed. The view from the back windows is idyllic if you like horses. We enjoyed making our own meals. Everything you need is there.

If you're looking for a private, peaceful, romantic getaway then this is it. Exactly as pictured. Lovely hosts. Delicious food. Privacy and comfort. Easy access to Shenandoah National Park and all that Luray has to offer. We loved having a little kitchen. We appreciated being able to have breakfast at our leisure in our own room. We felt welcome to visit with the hosts or just keep to ourselves. Close proximity to a variety of things to do. Don't miss The Art Warehouse in Luray.

There is a hot tub there. We never used it. I don't know if they would say yes to the cats or not. They are very nice folks and you would enjoy your stay there. All I can say is for you to call and ask. I imagine they will be ok with it since they have several cats on the farm and horses. I don't know if they would rent for an entire month or not. Call and ask Betsy. Just so you understand....we were guests there multiple times. I could also recommend another very nice place down near Luray if need be.
