Since we’re not in the same league as the Vanderbilts, we chose this place for it’s cost-effectiveness. Located on the edge of Newport, about 2 miles from the “action”, the Pineapple looks very 1950’s. We were able to check in early because the cleaning ladies were able to round up the office manager. And he gave us tips on how...

Unless you have a car, it's very far from the center of town. Not within walking distance. However, there is a bus stop 3 minutes walk away. It's a $2 ride to the Visitor Information Center in the center of town. First bus into town on a Sunday is at 10.57am. Best to take a cab out. I saved about...

We stayed here two nights while visiting Newport and its mansions. The room was very clean and had a refrigerator and microwave which was nice. The room we had was very quiet. The motel is located a short driving distance from the restaurants. The only negative thing was the wifi which did not work very well if at all at...

The Pineapple Inn is not fancy. We were not looking for luxury - we were looking for an affordable place to stay for a weekend get-away in Newport. The Pineapple Inn fit the bill perfectly. Having read some older reviews, we were dubious, but more recent reviews indicated that the Inn had been revived. We decided to take a chance....

Look, it's just a motel, but it's only fair to rate it as such, not against other, more expensive motel. We chose it because it was really the only accommodation we could find that was even nearly a reasonable price in Newport. I saw the horrible reviews on tripadvisor, but also saw that the more recent reviews were way better,...

Thought this was a different hotel when we booked it. Not bad for the price, but not the Ritz. Was part of a chain of Pineapple Inn hotels. Under new ownership and management since last year, so don"t go by past reviews. Apparently the last manager was not taking good care of the facilities. The new management staff is making...

This was the second time we stayed here. Under new management the motel is much improved. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and in good repair. It wasn't anything fancy but for the price and close location to downtown newport it's a great option. The only problem we had was low...

If your in Newport, RI and spending all your time in the hotel then you might not be happy here. For my husband and I it was fine since it was only $70 per night and we were only in it to sleep. There is way to much to see and do in the area to live in a hotel...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights everything was wonderful. It wasn't the Hilton but it had exactly what we needed a nice king size bed. We had a refrigerator and we also had a microwaveand coffee pot in the room. The staff was very friendly ,very knowledgeable about the area and the things to do and what...
