We recently stayed for a weekend at this charming B&B just a short car ride from the mansions and downtown. The room we chose upstairs was large, with a 4 poster king bed and furnishings expertly chosen from from days long past together with modern necessities. We awoke to a lovely breakfast and a chat with our charming host, Mary... More

The Gardenview is located just out of the way enough to have rest and quiet, and just close enough to everything you want to see in Newport and surrounding areas. Our room upstairs was large, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. Mary is a warm and wonderful person who made sure we had cream in our room as soon... More

My husband and I stayed at this B&B while we celebrated our anniversary in Newport - we got engaged in Newport 6 years ago and have stayed at several different B&B's in town and Gardenview was definitely our favorite! There are only two rooms in this B&B and we stayed on the second floor Sun-Lit Suite, which was very spacious... More

My girlfriend & I decided to stay at the Gardenview after reading several reviews online, and we were not disappointed. Mary, the owner & host, was extremely friendly & gracious and went out of her way to make us feel right at home!(It was our post Valentine's Day get-away as we both had to work that Sunday)The room we stayed... My wife and I spent our 35th wedding anniversary here right after Christmas day. Mary (the owner) was so friendly and receptive that we quickly became friends. The common room feels like it wraps it's arms around you as soon as you enter. The upstairs sun lit room was extraordinarily clean and so very comfortable. The ventilation with the twin... More

We visited Newport the weekend before Christmas to tour the decorated mansions. The decorations at this B&B were better than the mansions! Mary has collected many wonderful vintage and fun Christmas decorations. Everywhere we looked there were interesting things to see - in our room, the common area and especially in the dining room. She even had decorations in our... More

I booked this B&B because it appeared to be the nearest to the Newport Jazz Festival on the map and was stunned by the beautiful accommodations when I checked in. The upstairs room is huge! I felt a bit like a princess in there. The backyard is truly a labor of love with all the beautiful flowers, and I took... More

Decided to take a sister's getaway to Newport for the weekend. Looking at the last minute, this was one of the few places available. We booked and were happy we did! Mary is wonderful. Her place is very charming, country chic. I don't think the pictures on her site convey that the common areas (and I can only speak for... More

We stayed with Mary during the Newport Folk Festival this year. The location was fantastic--close enough that we could bike to Fort Adams Park or downtown easily. We stayed in the suite upstairs, and loved the room--it was quiet, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Mary was really friendly and helpful; she helped us find places to eat, and even offered to...
