We loaded our kayaks and paddled from the Brenton Cove, passing Goat Island to the Rose Island Lighthouse. It was a wonderful visit at the Rose Island Lighthouse, especially the lighthouse tour guide was extremely friendly and gave us loads history. It is a non-profit organization and you can stay over-nights at the lighthouse or have wedding there. The view...

Skilled ferryman and guide, Chris graciously greets you and brings you to this unbelievable gem! Inside the lighthouse, you can stay a night or for a week. While you will need your own provisions, there is a kitchen and bathroom available, as well as grills and minimal linens. Or you can take a short trip to Newport or other destinations...

Stayed in the Keepers Quarters 2 nights and it was one of the most fantastic experiences ever. Peaceful, relaxing are two of the words to describe the island. Next time we will go later in the year to be able to explore more when the birds are no longer nesting. Definitely need another stay! Highly recommended.

What a beautiful place! The lighthouse is a lot of fun to explore. Definitely planning a trip back soon to spend more time there. I really enjoyed being able to climb up to the catwalk and see the view. It was lovely.

My father and I went to the Rose Island lighthouse in October 2014 to stay overnight and wow! What a neat place to visit!! There are more sea shells on this island than anywhere I've visited in all my life. We chose to sleep initially in the foghorn room, but unknown to either of us, there are a lot of...

Spending the night at the Rose Island Lighthouse was a blast! It was like going back in time. It was on my sister's bucket list but it was a perfect experience for all three of us. So relaxing and would do it again given the opportunity. You get your bang for your buck.

I have always been fond of lighthouses and castles. For my 30th birthday, I wanted to stay in a lighthouse so we decided to make this place part of out four day trip from NY. We decided to stay here for two nights and chose the Wanton room. I booked this stay months in advance and it was very easy...

went over on the ferry from newport. had a great time . Short ferry ride which also went to Ft Adams and Jamestown. Toured all the rooms and went upstairs to the foghorn room, very interesting. The Rose Island members were having a clambake that day, and watching fireworks in the harbor that night 7/4

We took the ferry over to Rose Island from Newport in order to have a picnic ~ just something a little different in our journey. The ferry runs on a very specific schedule. If you want to be picked up from the ferry landing at Newport, you have to wait right down where they dock. We waited up by the...

This is such a unique and amazing place to spend the night. The ride over from fort Adams was quick and enjoyable. The Captain was pleasant and welcoming, he made sure we knew about all of the amenities on the island and provided a historical background of the site. We had great weather to enjoy the sights and sounds of...

“Museum rooms share a common space and are rustic, and also accessible to day visitors. Keepers apartment is more private and has the only shower on the island, also not accessible to day visitors. Fog horn room and barracks rooms are isolated and private, but bathrooms are a short walk away. Also those rooms do not have heat. Find a room to suit your style, and go and enjoy.”
