Before you book your stay at the Wellington it is important to realize this is NOT a hotel. They are efficiency apartments. You are responsible for everything. Do not expect to find shampoo or even a cup of coffee anywhere unless you bring your own. The apartment is well appointed if you know what to expect before you get there....

Everything about this property screemed update me - to the CRT TVs, 80's wall paper, bed spreads, kitchen, bathrooms, everything. See pics. What saves the property is its water front location, location in Newport, and the large spacious rooms. Otherwise I would have rated the place poor. You would think that for $400 a night, each room would be updated....

My wife, two young children and I spent a week at the Wellington Resort. We had a two bedroom two bathroom suite. This worked out well as the kids had their own area to play and watch their television shows. The kitchen was clean and reasonably well equipt. Bathrooms also were clean though drain in master tub needed repairing. Decor...

We took a road trip to Newport and stayed at the Wellington Resort. This place is great for a family. 2 bedroom suite, kitchen, water view, indoor and outdoor pool. Walking distance to downtown Newport. Great places to eat, and great live lobsters and other fresh seafood that you can buy and cook up in your room. On Thames, so...

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The resort could use some updating, however, if you are not expecting a glamorous and modern resort, the location is perfect for shopping, dining and viewing the mansions. The one bedroom we (my husband and myself) stayed in had twin beds, which is not what we considered ideal. The view of the bay area...

We stayed here during April school vacation. The place had great accommodations. The unit was quite large yet very comfortable. Our two daughters had their own room with bathroom while we had our own. A very big plus as you could image :) The place was emaculant when we got in. The staff was exceedingly knowledgable and friendly. I has...

We stayed at The Wellington off-season in March, so it was harder to gauge all of the outdoor activities that the resort had to offer. However, the rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed. Comfortable beds and plenty of room to roam within our 2 bedroom unit, so the kids were not on top of each other. We had an oceanview...

We were here in off-season (December) so we saw little resort activity, which we expected given the time of year. However, it was perfect. The units are large, well provisioned (no stove, which was fine with me), great view of the harbor, gorgeous sunsets and so comfortable! Walking distance to most places, local transit somewhat workable and taxis very reasonable....

The Wellington is the perfect location when staying in Newport. Far enough from downtown to be quiet even during the busiest season and close enough to walk to restaurants and shopping. Staff is courteous, helpful and check-in and check-out is smooth and easy. We are owners of a timeshare at The Wellington. Only once in all our years of ownership...
