Armistead Cottage is a fun B & B recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there the previous year with his wife and we're so glad to have taken his advice along with the many positive reviews we discovered on Trip Advisor. Romana was running it with the help of her cousin, who proved very attentive to our... More

Romana and Charles, the proprietors of Armistead Cottage, run a beautifully-decorated, inviting B&B. Charles handled our reservation over the phone, and after chatting about cats, followed up via email. We arrived on Saturday morning, several hours in advance of check in. Romana greeted us and informed us that our room was ready. After dropping off our luggage, Romana gave us... More

This is such a lovely B&B that I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Romana is a very friendly and generous hostess. Charles we did not meet as he was travelling in Italy (lucky chap). The beds are comfortable, the breakfast tasty and the porch inviting. Don't forget to ask Romana to show you her beautiful stained glass creations. I... More

Located in a quiet neighborhood with lovely homes all around Armistead Cottage definitely fit the bill. Traveling alone, I was looking for a good place to relax but still be able to get to popular attractions quickly and with ease. A quick walk gets you to Easton's Beach, which I enjoyed in the evening to read a book before the... More

I don't normally get sappy, or provide reviews for anything, but this is from the heart. We have stayed with Romana and Charles 5 or 6 times. They provide a fun, interesting and comfortable place to stay with a great breakfast every morning. What they do that no other B&B we have ever stayed at has done is make us... More

My husband and I have been to Armistead Cottage twice and we can't wait to go back! The entire decor is so warm and inviting. Our room was clean and spacious. And the breakfast is so carefully thought out with flavorful muffins and delicious souffles, not to mention the presentation is in such good taste. Romana is the absolute best... More

We have stayed at The Armistead Cottage many times. After trying several B&B's in the area, the Armistead is our absolute favorite! Romana and Charles are wonderful..so warm ,inviting and informative! The rooms are beautifully decorated, immaculate and very reasonably priced. The location is also convenient, close to cliffwalks and downtown! Can't wait to visit again!

What a wonderful stay! Romana was a wonderful hostess! Our room was beautiful, cozy and comfortable. The breakfasts were delightful and we were so happy that Romana sat and chatted during breakfast. She was helpful in every way. The location was perfect - a short 15-20 minute walk to the waterfront.

My husband and I spent a delightful two days at the Armistead Cottage. The carefully appointed rooms and delicious breakfasts aren't even the best part of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Romana, seeing her artwork and learning about her life. Very spacious and beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, great breakfast and charming host! Next time we hope to have the... More

This was a two-night getaway for my wife and me and it was excellent! Romana made us feel like long-time friends from the moment we walked in the door. The house sits on a quiet street in a great location in Newport. Probably a 10 minute walk to Intl Tennis Hall of Fame, Audrain Auto Museum and restaurants. A delicious... More
