I am a daily swimmer for health. On every hotel balcony, I would have bikini photos taken for memory. As a Priceline VIP member, we booked a room with a superior city view for seven days, but our room faced only high-rise buildings, and the scenery appeared bland. Two days later, I explained and showed the front desk staff, Kathy, my photos on other hotel balconies with beautiful scenery. She immediately went out of her way to find another room that was a little smaller but had a partial ocean view. The room was quiet, and I enjoyed listening to the relaxing Hawaiian music channel on TV. As a fashionista, I recommend that they install a mirror in front of the desk where I sit for makeup. Although the hotel was considerate to provide a lighted makeup mirror, it needed to be brighter. Fortunately, I bought my own Simple Human mirror. I booked this hotel with the plan to swim daily, but unfortunately, the pool area was too windy because it is located on the 6th floor. I realize from experience only if the pool is on the ground floor will it not be windy. I only swam for two days. When I discovered a 24-Hour Fitness nearby, it was time to come home. Overall it was still a fantastic stay.…
Q: Where can you find a room that will sleep 5 people, in a convenient part of Waikiki, is rated #1 on Tripadvisor for the best hotel in Waikiki, with 5-star service, ocean view w/ dual balconies and a separate room for the in-laws? How about free valet parking, no resort fees, early 12 PM check in and late 6 PM check out for Kama'aina (locals)? A: You're looking at it! It was difficult to fit all of these criteria into our budget and what we were looking for. It was either book two separate rooms and pay more, or stay here. Although the Trump line is not associated with budget, compared to booking separate rooms WITHOUT all of the perks above, it would have come out way more expensive. This was actually a deal, believe it or not. DETAILS: POOL: You're wondering why I'm writing about the pool first; it's because it seems to be one of the complaints of guests calling it small, and I have no idea why this is a problem. It is the most luxurious pool I've ever soaked in, and small and classy is better than big and brassy! Looking out over the infinity edge, I can see two other hotel's pools and they are a LOT larger but filled with rowdy drunk people and inflatables. Would you rather have a classy pool, or a larger pool in a less fancy setting? I soaked in the pool in the day, and at night (simply magical)! If you get cold, there's a separate jacuzzi. There's poolside cocktail and food service but I didn't use those. Next time I stay here, I'll try to time it with the full moon so I can soak under the moonbeams. ROOM: Mind blown! We had a suite with one full bedroom, a den and living room, both with pull-out beds, 1120 sq ft, ocean view w/ 2 balconies, 2 full bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen (dishes, high-end bar glasses, utensils, knives, 12 cup coffee maker, full sized rice cooker!, wine chiller, pots/pans), microwave, fridge, dishwasher, ovens (Subzero, Wolf, Bosch, Miele). The bathrooms had really nice toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, bar soap, bath gel, bath salts, loofah, cotton swabs, make up pads, hair tie and shower cap, nail files). The room decor all tastefully done in creams, dark and light wood tones, very clean as well. The trashcans were even made of leather! Impressive! The hotel gave you complimentary hotel slippers you could walk around in, as well as Eco water bottles; heavy bath robes for each guest, tons of fluffy clean towels and twice daily housekeeping. Very quiet, we didn't hear a thing but we also got a room on the side of the elevators separated from other rooms. Four elevators, the fastest elevators we've ever been in...totally insane! SERVICE: Minds blown again!! This is 5-star service on steroids. I have never heard, in my life of frequenting hotels all across the globe, someone actually SMILING over the phone!! Keiko and Ryuko cheerfully greeted me daily when I called to ask for bottled water (complimentary) or had questions. Housekeeping personnel actually smiling and greeting us warmly was also surprising. Front desk check in and check out, all wonderful! Valet, also great! Twice daily housekeeping, amazing!! FOOD: Breakfast at the In-Yo Cafe was not very impressive. It was pricey so the next day we walked over to Duke's Waikiki for buffet breakfast (read my reviews for both). Eggs and Things around the corner but too many people. Dinner at BLT Steakhouse burned a hole into our 401K but my husband said it was the best steak ever (see my review on this one as well). The in-room dining menu seemed impressive, but we didn't use it. You can also walk about 2 short blocks to ABC Stores to get cheap wine and food, and Dole Whip! Giovanni Pastrami is also in the short walk away for take-out food and pizza (we loved the pizza). CONVENIENT: ABC Stores, restaurants, boutique shops, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, International Marketplace all within walking distance. The beach is right across the street, as is the Army Museum, if you're into history. Drop into Lewer's Lounge at the Halekulani for cocktails/piano music in the evening, but dress nice for that. If you want to drive over to Ala Moana Shopping Center for all-day shopping, it's about a 5 minute drive away. OTHER: if you're a bird watcher, you're in for a treat if you have a room with the ocean view balcony. Swarms of white tern and Indian Ringneck Parakeets fly in flocks over the trees below and mingle with the pigeons and the lone chicken pecking for food in the grass by the Army Museum. You can bring your dog with you for $50 more a night, now how many hotels let you do that? Need a crib for your kid? No problem! If walking to other restaurants, I suggest walking along the beach-side and avoid walking around the hotel on the Ewa (west) side; it wasn't as nice and there was a creepy man checking us out. PRICE: Your mileage may vary. We locked in at $666 a night (not joking) for local Kama'aina rate and now the rate is $987 for the same room. RETURN FACTOR: 120% YES.…
Our stay at the Trump Waikiki was fabulous! The staff made the experience exceptional!! Kelly and Scott at Wai Olu bar or super friendly, attentive, yea professional ! The morning crew at the In-yo café, could not have been nicer-hard-working morning people with beautiful smiles on their faces!! housekeeping did a great job all around-turn down service was perfect! One of the highlights of our trip was Masa the Master Sushi Chef!!! Highly highly recommend! He is world renowned, and a hidden gem…. Our stay at the Trump Waikiki could not have been better. Mr. Dirks the GM has done a great job at hiring people that represent not only Trump Waikiki but the hard-working, beautiful people of Hawaii!! we will be back for sure, and again we can’t recommend the hotel highly enough!!
Everyone was kind and hospitable. Of particular note was Marie Sugio who was extremely helpful in my initial booking as well as arranging for an extended checkout time. She was very pleasant to work with and came across as a true professional who should be commended!!
Our next visit will be at Trump again. They were extremely nice and helpful. The suite was very clean. Washer and dryer, kitchenette on site. They had a spa, gym and a business library. Highly recommended for family trips.
Five stars all around! From the friendly staff to the spacious suite (I stayed at the premium 2 bedroom, ocean view with den suite) to the food at In-Yo cafe, my family had the most wonderful experience. We enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi as well. The location was perfect as it was less than a 5-minute walk to Waikiki beach, and centrally located to various spots we had planned in our itinerary. It's about a 30-minute drive to Pearl Harbor, 20-minute drive to Hanauma Bay, 12-minute drive to Diamond Head. The amenities at the hotel were fabulous - from the comfy slippers, plush robes, towels, luxurious Natura Bisse shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and cotton pads! The kitchen is well stocked and came with a water kettle, pots, pans, cups, rice maker, utensils, coffee maker, wine glasses, you name it! I loved the breathtakingly gorgeous view we had from our hotel suite. My stay at Trump Waikiki was so memorable. I will definitely be booking my stay at Trump Waikiki again on my next trip to Hawaii!…
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Everyone is so friendly from the valet staff to the reception and restaurant staff to the cleaning team. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. And the views don't get any better. If you can, book an ocean view room. I don't regret splurging on the view. It's also a quick walk to the beach and so many amazing local restaurants.
Amazing customer services. Exceeded expectations. Our flight was delayed so we arrived past midnight. The hotel went above and beyond: when we arrived to our rooms, not only did they have a midnight snack prepared for us, there were little sting ray plushies waiting for my 2 daughters. It's the little thing that counts. Our room was impeccably serviced twice daily. We are very thankful for the hospitality as we were away from home with our 4 year old (who asked to go back to the hotel when we were out because she loved it so much like home) and 6 year old daughter(s), along with my 76 year old mother. Even my mom was praising the hotel and their staff for the hospitality we received and she is still raving about it. We ordered in one night and was delighted with the nice lady who brought food to our room (she also had 2 little ones at home). So friendly! We look forward to staying here again. Thank you for such a memorable experience. ***Conveniently located in Waikiki, nicely heated pool where you can see the beach, delicious buffet breakfast, strong spa & with prompt/delicious room service.…
I was blown away by the exceptional customer service. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. They were always available to answer my questions and address any concerns I had throughout my stay.
From the minute I called to confirm the reservation to the moment we checked out the staff made us feel like a VIPs. This is definitely a pricier option for staying in Waikiki but you definitely get what you pay for. We booked a suite with prime ocean view and we were not disappointed. Since the room included a full kitchen we were able to cook and take a short walk to the beach for lunch every day. The nearby beach is rather small and rocky but perfect for lounging on the sand and enjoying some quiet.
