First, and most importantly, handicap access is wretched. There are no elevators to guest rooms on the level of the main reception desks, which is where taxis drop you off. You have to go down a long, narrow switch backing ramp to get to the level with the elevators. The incline is so steep that it is difficult for people in wheelchairs or walkers to push up or control the wheelchair on the way down. You have to contend with people rolling their many suitcases up and down to get in or leave. There is not enough room for people to pass. Somebody has to back up and get off the ramp. People need to know ahead of time that handicap access is terrible. This was not the case in 2009 when we first visited. I can only guess that construction on the Grand Waikikian Tower is responsible. There is no excuse for this. You have to deal with this every bloody day. Second, the Lagoon Tower is old and looking tired. The furniture is poor. The windows in the bedrooms are filthy. The combination toilet-bidet in the bathroom that’s part of the main bedroom (we were in a two bedroom apartment) smelled bad and the bidet feature did not work at all. There is no telephone in the living room, only the bedrooms. When we asked for one, we were told that all the living room telephones had all been removed. WTH were they thinking? You cannot hear the telephones in the bedrooms when you are in the living room, especially when the TV is on. I may have missed an important call. The elevators are slow. There is no salt and pepper in the kitchen. I have been used to requesting the small almost single use salt and pepper shakers in other HGVC properties, so this did not surprise me. When I called to request these small salt and pepper shakers, I was told they did not provide even these because it was a security issue. They could not guaranty that it was salt and pepper. What? This is just a bizarre justification for being cheap. Other properties deal with this by removing the salt and pepper when the units are cleaned. Simple. Not a terrorist security risk. Third, we made our reservation four months previous. We requested an upper floor, such as the 17th floor, where we stayed in 2009. When we arrived on a Monday, we were told that people who checked in over the weekend had taken all of the upper floor units. We have been a Hilton Grand Vacations Club owner since the first Flamingo HGVC building was constructed in Las Vegas decades ago. I believe this was Hilton’s first time share building. Our request should have been honored ahead of people who just happened to check in before we did. This was a shabby way to treat an owner. When I asked a manager why we didn’t get an upper floor unit, he promised to check into moving us to an upper floor and to call me. He never did. The consequence of being on the 8th floor, rather than a higher floor, was that on several days the noise from the pool and lagoon below prevented us from using our balcony. Lastly, when I requested a folio on the morning we checked out, I was presented with a bill for $800 for our last night. I was livid and developed a third ulcer. I could not make the poor stressed out woman who was at the desk that this 7th night was complimentary pursuant to an agreement with the HGVC central office and the Flamingo HGVC. I told her flatly that I would not pay it. When I got back to the room (we were packed to leave) I received a call from her, stating that it was a mistake, that she had not read all of the notes in my file, that our last night was indeed supposed to be complimentary. She apologized profusely. This was a bad way to end our stay.

I think I know why the HHV gets a mix of 3 and 5 star ratings, its because during your stay there is a mixture of 3 and 5 star experiences and you rate depending on your most enduring memory For me, I wouldn’t stay here again but its not that I didn’t enjoy a lot of the experiences Pros - the ocean view room - the slides (mixture of lifeguards manning this but i saw one react so quickly when a kid had her arm bands blown off by the water- shout out to that attendant lady who jumped in fully clothed!) - the pools (not too cold for us at all!) - the lagoon - HOUSekeeping, omg they were lovely! And came EVERY single day taking the bin and giving us more coffee and fresh towels!!! Loved this. - the tropic and tapa bars cocktails (hau tree bars mai tai not as good) - the pizza place , smells like wet dog in there but take it away and it’s delicious 😋 Cons - took three deposits off me at check in (by accident??) leaving me with absolutely no money at all - i burst out into tears at the counter when i found out, worried i wouldn’t be able to feed my kids or do anything we had planned. Not a great start - Loud sooo loud, i wasn’t expecting the 19th floor to feel like i was camping at coachella sound wise. Probably city view would be quiter. The music was from the tapa tower every night super loud until 10pm it didnt work well with children - Stressful, the pool was so busy it was just stressful going there, i am sure people from other resorts come in cos the door was always open - Expensive

Be warned - your Hilton status counts for nothing here, they have their own “timeshare” guests that get precedence over Diamond Elite members… Rooms are very noisy, dated and tired. The Lagoon “suites” are like institutional rooms and most are literally adjacent to the elevators (they share a wall). Impossible to sleep as it’s extremely noisy each time it moves not just when it stops at the relevant floor. Serious design flaw and extremely noisy.- all night long. The common areas were dirty. The only positive was the English woman on the concierge desk - she was really helpful. There are much nicer and cheaper places to stay nearby. Stay at one of those.

We had to switch rooms during our stay. (It was the way I booked It) The first room was beautiful. 22nd floor with a balcony. It was great. The second room was on the 18th floor. WOW is all I can say. Huge living room, two balconies. Big master and en suite. The only thing was the beds in the guest room were twin beds. But other than that is was great. Second bath was ok.

I traveled with my adult children, disabled husband and 8 month old grandchild. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had the two bedroom/2 bath suite in Lagoon Tower. 8th Floor with view of the lagoon and view of the luau stage. With two balconies and plenty of room, there was ample space for a crawling baby and beautiful views from our patio chairs. Kitchen was well stocked with basics. Room was clean and pleasant. The beds were super comfortable with wonderful duvets. Some reviewers post unfavorably about the noise from the street [delivery trucks, garbage trucks, etc.] It's Honolulu! And you are in a massive resort! What in the world do you expect? Everything was conveniently located within easy walking distance. My husband rented a mobility scooter and this was perfect for going to the Lagoon beach, within the resort to restaurants and shops. Not so easy in the pool areas which were jam packed. And the beach was difficult for him.But we preferred the Lagoon anyway. Lovely vacation spot with helpful staff.

Our stay in general was overall good, there were some quirky things though that could be easily fixed that could have made our stay better, but this resort is older I took that into consideration. We stayed in one of the penthouse rooms on the 24th floor and there was plenty of space and the kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances needed for entertaining, but we did not use any of them. Our room the master was on the second floor of the suite it tended to stay warmer than the other rooms and at night we could hear the elevator motors running quite loudly. I am not sure why but none of our beds had sheets on them which is weird. There was the bottom sheet then a duvet with a down blanket inside which was super-hot and we kicked off in the middle of the night to the floor so sleeping without a cover was weird. My main issue was that after we would get done with our tours each day around 5:00 or 5:30pm the pools and hot tubs closed at 6:00pm and one of the hot tubs was not working at all and was told by an employee walking around the pool area that it had been broken for several weeks. The one day we had a couple hours to use the pool area during the day the other hot tub had children in it and one man holding his toddler in it. It was not bubbling just sitting there stagnant, so not sure if this one was working either. The bellhops were very courteous and, on the ball, and the two ladies that were always in the lobby out front of the check-in area were super friendly as well and greeted us every day of our stay.

I live on Oʻahu, so we decided to take a staycation for Motherʻs Day weekend. Call ahead for directions to the location of this tower. Lei greetings were nice by two older Japanese women. Our lady who checked us in was Japanese, spoke a little English, didnʻt make eye contact and really made me feel "not wanted". I'm not sure if the treatment I received was because we were Kamaaina but, I hope this kind of treatment is corrected. Your room key is needed to get into the elevator. There are only 3 elevators in Lagoon Tower that everyone uses, including housekeeping. Fridayʻs is the fireworks show, if youʻre downstairs enjoying the show, you may want to hang out downstairs before catching the elevator due to the long lines. We had a 2-Bedroom on the 7th floor, note to request an even room number, the odd number of rooms faces a very noisy street. Additionally, in the morning or middle of the night (3:00 am) you'll be awakened by delivery trucks, vehicles and motorcycles. The room was dated with the furniture. Thereʻs free well maintained laundry equipment by the elevator. Our room didnʻt come with Housekeeping, bring your own disinfectant wipes to clean during your stay and ask for a wet mop to clean your floors. We stayed 3 nights and I canʻt stand not having our room cleaned daily. Enjoyed the Toto Washlet in the Masterbedroom, a nice feature. Numerous food choices, and shopping options on property as well. Purchased a few dresses from the clearance rack at a little boutique on property near the Aliʻi Tower. Be prepared to pay for self parking in the public parking garage that is attached to the towers. We paid $ 64.92 a day to park in the garage which I was not aware of when we booked on the HGVC website. Also, another item not shown on the HGVC booking website is Hawaiʻi has a “transient occupancy tax”. If a timeshare owner is staying at their property or an exchange guest is coming in through RCI or Interval International or any other external exchange company or a timeshare guest is staying at the property – then they pay what is called a “transient occupancy tax” when they check out. We paid $19.11/per day for an additional total of $57.33 plus daily parking of $64.92/a day= $194.76 for a grand total at checkout $252.09. Advising everyone because it can get expensive and I live on the island. There were no Kamaaina discounts for residence!!!! It was hard to find pool chairs, little/ no resort security visible. One very small hot hub😳 that seemed to be crowded. Make sure you check the pool hours. Paradise Pool closes earliest (like 6pm), and their slide and lava tube have designated hours. QR Codes are provided for information on the various bars and restaurants on property. p.s. We just came home from Vegas and stayed at the Elara and The Boulevard properties. If you stayed at these properties, it's premium compared to this tower. The staff needs to be reminded about Aloha and what it means to Hawaiʻi and our people. Disappointed and wonʻt stay here again.

The location of this tower was recommended by so many others on HGV Facebook page. The tower is very old with only 3 elevators. While we were there only 2 were working! An ocean view means you are also on a very noisy side of the building - the luau is directly below ( however, that is not a problem because it is fairly short and fun to watch). The large event on our first night was so LOUD no one got to sleep. Additionally, in the morning or middle of the night (3:00 am) you might be awakened by trucks delivering to Lapperts, etc. Housekeeping is very responsive, the free and very new laundry equipment by the elevator was a nice surprise. We had only stayed 4 nights but decided to use them since they were all empty. This is not a location for stress free vacation. It was hard to find pool chairs, little/ no resort security visible. One hot hub😳 that seemed to be filled with children. This hot tub was located by the pool with slides and the pool there was very cold.

Owner and proud habitual user of my Aspire Amex and HH Business Amex Card, this property is an absolute disappointment! First and last time staying! Only positive I am seeing so far is the easy access to the beaches, other than that it's small rooms with a poor layout causing for a late night of listening to kids scream in the pool.
