And you don't pay a lot, so don't expect too much. However it is a good deal - especially for Hawaii. The staff is friendly and helpful - already a big plus. The place could be a little bit cleaner and there are a couple of maintenance issues - but overall I can recommend it for the location, for the...

The Plumeria management was very helpful and courteous. I booked a week in their hostel for the Honolulu marathon and I had to cancel my trip. They gave me over a 90% refund on two days notice. They also had prompt responses to my emails. Best travels for all.

Over priced, so so location and very dirty. For the price you pay you don't get much for your money. Smells and very dirty. Location is a 10 minute walk from Ala Moana mall which is good but would never stay here again. For the price you pay, if you can shop around you can find hotels more in the...

The reviews written by Laerissen, Borg V and kaye m are spot on. The Plumeria is what it says it is. You won't be disappointed if you are familiar with staying in hostels. Issues of cleanliness, noise and privacy depend a lot on the other guests that you share space with. I spent two weeks at Plumeria, sharing an apartment...

This is my last week (out of 4) at the plumeria. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I had a great time here so far. The staff is really nice and stopped by from time to time to chat when we were sitting in front of our appartement. If we needed anything they helped us out (more dishes,...

I came to this place thinking the worst, just because it is a hostel! But I was/and still are very pleasantly surprised how amiable this place is to stay in. The mattresses were comfortable and good, but the room floors can be cleaner, especially under the beds, where there were a lot of bits of garbage under the beds. Everyone...

My stay here went fairly well. The staff was friendly and the rooms were super clean. The bed was soft and comfortable and the pillows were big and plush. I particularly enjoyed the barbecue they served. Overall like I said this was a good experience and I would stay here again.

My stay here was wonderful! The people here were very nice and the food was exceptionally good. This hotel honed the essence of the island and it had a great vibe in and around it. I was only in Hawaii for five days and this hotel really helped make my trip worthwhile. I couldn't have been more happier with my...

I just wanted to say I appreciate all the kindness from Mr. Richard-san, and the excellent service at Plumeria. I must say, I will be recommending Plumeria to my students, family, and friends. It was nice to chat with Mr. Richard-san, and I wish I had a bit more time to visit. He really helped out a Japan Earthquake refugee....

This was my first time ever in Hawaii, and I had a blast! I want to thank Plumeria Hostel for the great stay. My only complaint was not having the greatest air ventilation in the room, but besides that everything was awesome. I can't wait to come back.

“If you want to stay in the all Women Dorm then the best way to get it is to travel with other women friends and book all the rooms together. That's usually why it's hard to get a room there because friends book the room all at once. When I stayed there the bathroom was crowded so if you really need to go there is a "Zippy's" restaurant across the street with a bathroom you can use (they don't mind) and if you need a bathroom late at night on the other side of the street is a Safeway and they are open 24/7. To get less road noise at night ask for a room closer to the office (so, away from the roads) and enjoy a better nights sleep!”
