We stayed at this hotel for the first two nights of our trip and then returned for the last night as well. Unfortunately there was not availability over the weekend dates to accommodate our group, but we would have stayed here the whole trip if we could have!
Staff were very friendly and kind to interact with. Lobby and hallways were clean and airconditioned, just like the rooms. Each room was equipped with an electric bidet that had a heated toilet seat and functions for heated water and drying (this was a high bar to set for majority of our group’s first bidet experience). The kitchenette in some room types was very valuable for having instant oatmeal breakfasts to cut down on some of our meal costs. We didn’t get the chance to try out the pool but we did take advantage of the beach/pool towel check-out service offered.

We loved our stay at the Polynesian Residences! Super close to all the main areas of town, and pricing is much more affordable.

It is a bit loud facing the street but we had no issues with a set of earplugs when needed. We did not rent a car and this hotel was located close to all bus routes, less than 5 mins walk for all. Within 10 minutes you can access a few beaches and the main shopping areas. Tons of amazing food around as well.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Beach towels and chairs available for day rental for free! Wifi was great, showers had good pressure and hot hot water (important to me!). Highlights were definitely the kitchenette (microwave, minifridge, toaster, Keurig with pods, 2 stovetops, pots/pans/utensils all provided). Hawaii can be expensive so having an option to cook was amazing- we used this a lot! We also loved the toto toilet.

In our room we could not access outlets easily so bring a long charging cable. No hair dryer but not a deal breaker as Hawaii is so hot (we also didn't ask for one so they might provide). We used the luggage storage after checkout which was convenient for late flights. Only went to the pool briefly but a nice spot to relax without crowds.

Would absolutely come back here if I am in Waikiki again, we love love loved it!

2nd time stay , just as cosy , warm and friendly as I remembered 5 years ago . The hotel is small with no onsite parking ( can park near by as stated on their website) but local bus routes nearby which for a city has good transportation links . Plenty of restaurants, shopping nearby . Beach 10 minutes walk. If you don’t like big resorts this is the hotel and no big resort fees ! In their small resort fee you can take beach towels & chairs away . Room has fridge , microwave & safe . Balcony’s . If am lucky enough to visit Waikiki again would stay here without hesitation.

Really disappointed with this hotel after reading the great reviews below. We went with family and I booked two rooms and asked for them to be close together we were put on different floors. This was booked months earlier.

The worst thing about the stay was the place is run down and the bed, it was so old and had it - it sunk in the middle and you could feel the springs! Sore back, we both couldn't sleep. It says the room has sound proofing it doesn't. The room was incredibly noisy as it faced the road so take ear plugs or ask for a room overlooking the pool.

A lot of things in the room didn't work. The lighting was poor. A microwave but no dishes to use in it or to put anything on, no toiletries on arrival, no coffee, had to ring and ask for it, no tea the whole stay, reading lamp didn't work, plug didn't work - I looked at it and it was cracked, no safe (they took one from the other room and put it in). Coffee cups not cleaned each day, they just left the dirty ones. Tap in basin water dribbled out you couldn't even clean your hands properly unless you used the shower. The place is run down. It is like they have done things on the cheap. Put in a led mirror in the bathroom to try and make it look better but not fixed the essentials in the rooms.

The pool doesn't get sun till about 11/12 in the morning so you are better off going to the beach. The decking around the pool has loose wood which isn't nailed down, screws sticking up on some of the wood, so make sure you wear sandals otherwise you will hurt your feet! Also the decking is incredibly dirty looks like it could do with a good waterblast. Asked for a wake up call and didn't get it, thank goodness my phone alarm worked. The clock in the room is not even on the right time.

The most important thing to me in a hotel is a comfortable bed to get a good sleep, you don't get that here. I have stayed at the Ohana East in the past and will be sticking to that, much better hotel and similar pricing.

We called 1 month in advance (twice) to ask about the parking situation. Each time the staff omitted CRITICAL information. Not a single staff member told us about the parking garage closing EARLY at 10pm. Our flight arrived after 10pm and we found ourselves completely duped out of parking and searching frantically all evening only to settle on extremely expensive military parking.

Furthermore, our first room experienced water leakage that caused the entire room to smell rotten, causing my sister to get incredibly sick. The flooring is dirty carpet thus the exacerbation of the smell. We asked to be moved to a new room that was smaller and much less expensive than what we paid for. The staff did not bother to answer my questions thoroughly - omitting critical information yet again, about waiving resort fees and applying them elsewhere onto my bill.

Overall, awful staff made what would have been an otherwise decent stay, terrible and inefficient.

We had our AirBnB fall through on the day of arrival and this place appeared in our search at the very last minute because they had just reopened. It's located smack in the middle of everything so you will be close to shops and restaurants. The parking situation is a bit complicated -- the garage is located around the corner and the hotel gives you a pass to use (that you have to pay for of course). This was really the only annoying thing about the place but other than that it was a very good value.

I was very happy and impressed with this hotel. This hotel is significantly cheaper than most hotels in the Waikiki area, but the quality was the same.

Our flight was delayed and we did not get in until 1 am. I emailed ahead of time to tell them we'd be late and they responded right away. So helpful as I was stressing out about showing up at 1 am and not having a hotel room.

Our room faced the ocean and we were able to see the Fireworks display from the Hilton on Friday night. A great bonus.

The room was clean, spacious, had a fridge and microwave. The toilet even had a bidet.

The pool was small and the fencing around meant you couldn't really see anything around.

There are laundry facilities, which was a bonus as we were in Hawaii for a while and wanted to do laundry before boarding our cruise ship.

Great hotel, customer service was very polite and attentive. If you're looking for luxury or high end this is not for you. Its affordable, clean, great location. Downfall is parking, however we parked at a garage 3min walk without issues. Parking garage does close at 10pm, but get there no later than 9:50pm. They tend to close it a little early and it reopens at 6am. There aren't reentry privileges unless your lucky enough to get a parking pass from hotel. They are very limited but you can get on a wait list if you ask. Also pool closes too early 8pm. We stayed 10 nights in the kitchenette. Worked out great, 2 burner stove top and full size microwave. All silverware, plates. Bowls and cookware provided. If your in need of a cookware not in room just ask front desk and they most likely have it. I'd definitely stay here again.

My family (with 2 young kids) stayed at the Polynesian Residences at Waikiki for 4 nights and we really enjoyed our stay and miss the staff. What we love the most was the staff, my kids love walking by the front desk to say hi and talk to the staff, they were so friendly and kind. We got a room with 2 beds and a kitchen. The place is very comfortable and we like the location very much even though it’s a little noisy outside due sometimes. We definitely enjoy our stay here and will definitely stay here again when we return to Waikiki. My daughter keeps telling me how much she misses the hotel especially the staff.

Location is very good with close by restaurants and shops and the Royal Hawaian shopping center just a couple of blocks away. Nice park nearby. I had the basic room which did have a refrigerator and microwave. Towels are available at the front desk to use on the beach or at the pool.

Limited housekeeping because of Covid but new towels and supplies available from friendly front desk personnel.

If arriving by rental car park in front of the Tommy Bahama next door while you check in. I found my only issue was their recommended parking garage has limited hours. The garage is only open between 6 am and 10 pm. Because of an early flight and having to return my rental car I found the last night I could not park there and make my flight on time. I found the Waikiki parking garage on Seaside is available 24 hours per day and is about 5 or 6 blocks away. Cost there was $45 overnight

It is difficult to find, I missed it nearly everyday when returning from the beach. It is next door to a skin care salon and the entrance sits inward a bit. Enjoy!

The pool is not heated. But the weather in Hawaii is great...not too hot or cold. A great place to dip into the pool or the nearby Waikiki Beah!
