The historical context of this B&B contributed to our initial decision to stay here whilst in Vicksburg but the beautiful rooms and friendliness of the people made our stay memorable. We were fortunate in that we were only ones who were staying in the main house - which allowed us to take our time exploring. It's evident that the owners... More

INNKEEPER’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 2 August 2016

I want to extend a warm "thank you" to Tom and his entire staff for making our 2 days in Vicksburg so perfect. We were allowed to enjoy all of the amenities of the property as if they were our own. The food was so good we chose to eat at Anchuca both nights of our visit. On our second... More

We stayed at Anchuca on a Friday night, and we had very mixed feelings. Our room in the house’s original servant’s quarters on the second floor was quite a hike with luggage: from the parking area, to the bottom of the stairs, up the stairs, then down the length of a porch. Our room seemed a bit neglected and disjointed.... More

We had a room in the carriage house. It was as musty as a crypt, the gas fireplace did not work, the bed was left over from the siege of Vicksburg (lumpy and worn out). The place is lousy with cats struggling to get into the rooms to escape the cold. The property is beautiful, but there is lots of... More

We stayed just one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Our large, airy, and very comfortable room with bath was in the wing that extends off the back of the mansion, although there also are rooms in the mansion itself. After a delicious breakfast in the lovely garden room, we were treated to a tour of the mansion.... More

While the title indicates "Under New Management", I don't really have any knowledge of how things ran under the old management. However, this review is about how this wonderful mansion is today. The staff was superb, warm and welcoming. The mansion is beautiful and decorated in period antiques. We stayed in one of the smaller carriage house rooms, but there... More

Stayed two nights recently at the Anchuca Historic Mansion & Inn. It is a very historic mansion, beautifully decorated and well run. Excellent grounds with a great patio and pool. Had breakfast as well as dinner. Both were superb and well prepared. Dining in the actual dining room with all the period pieces and artwork was a real treat in... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Old Quarters King room, which is a large room with good amenities and slightly more of a boutique hotel style rather than grandma's parlour. The breakfast was excellent and we had a very nice dinner in Cafe Anchuca. The pool and outside sitting areas are lovely and we took full advantage of these facilities... More

Enjoyed our stay in the huge Davis Suite of this Southern Mansion. A night of olde worlde southern style on a high comfy bed under a canopy in the main house. You are welcome to wander and enjoy the parlours and library which are public rooms. The grounds are lovely too. Breakfast is included in the B&B experience as is... More

This is a long delayed travel review. My wife and I visited Anchuca over 10 years ago and I promised that I would write a review. How about that for procrastination. The thing that kept nagging me was that I had a wonderful time, yet I had never fulfilled my promise. To start with, when we arrived we had rented... More
