The staff is a beautiful extension of this wonderful b&b. Every person here is so hospitable and friendly. When we arrived we were given our room, it was outside, up an outdoor stairway, down a balcony. When we got in the room, I was so disappointed, it felt like a old motel room that smelled like cigarette smoke. I was...

Anchuca is the real deal. It's an iconic property that epitomizes everything about it's setting... THIS is the Vicksburg that you came to experience: a gracious setting, lovely people, and real Southern food. I assure you that 20 years from now, whenever the subject of the Mississippi Delta comes up in conversation, this is what you'll think of. It's the...

We slept 25 feet from where Jefferson Davis gave a speech on the balcony in 1869. It doesn't get any better than that. I always recommend historic homes when traveling. It is truly up to us to honor the history of our country. The owners of Anchuca have done just that. Although we did not eat dinner here, we did...

We were planning a visit to Vicksburg for the BluzCruz kayak race were seeking something historic and unique for lodging. The Anchuca site appeared to have great reviews from TripAdvisor so we booked. DEFINITELY glad we did. This was an excellently preserved property with great customer service. Had the most wonderful visit at Anchuca. The home is breathtaking and the staff very pleasant to the guest. We stayed at the carriage house and it was so charming and comfortable. Very period correct with all the modern amenities and most comfortable bed. The breakfast they served was delicious and wanted to come back for the lunch but was...

Went with 3 friends and stayed in the Davis room (a room with two twins connected to a room with a king-sized bed). Anchuca exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and the history of the mansion was just fascinating. The design was wonderful and made our stay feel like a fairy...

My husband and I spent four nights here and were delighted with not only the accommodations but with the wonderful meals. Our room was Emma's in the Carriage House...when we checked in to our room the fireplace was lit and there was beautiful music playing. Out of the four mornings that we were there we only made breakfast twice as...

We operate a B & B ourselves but like to take time off and explore. We of course stay at B&B's and this was a great find. The home of Jefferson Davis's brother and right in the middle of historic Vicksburg. This home is beautifully furnished and we had a delicious breakfast. Chris was a wonderful host.
